  1. Anyway, to bring this back to its intended purpose. Pakistan has just charged someone with an offence in relation to spreading disinformation in relation to the Southport Attack
  2. Mostly, I'm I have this on vinyl or CD. The End (there are a few exceptions)
  3. Posted the other week but this album… you know it’s good when it finishes you just go back to the start again.
  4. Yep, absolute gubbins, awful band. Not aware of any new pots of cash. Massive in Liverpool and nowhere else. They can sell out 2k capacity venues here, three men and a dog elsewhere
  5. Before her last job she worked for the Institute for Goverment, specialising in Constitutional change. She’s a a policy wonk She's specialised in constitutional reform, you know like the House of Lords, which is what she'll be doing in this role too If the serial drunk driver that is Guido Fawkes is outraged, it’s probably not going to be that bad See Labour are appointing people with actual knowledge of the fields they'll be advising on unlike the other lot that appointed serially useless “business people” to run things like Track and Trace from a f***ing spreadsheet
  6. Well it’s not like millions of people didn’t say that to them over the course of the election. Clacton is also Brexit central, even as far back as 1969 Enoch Powell chose Clacton to make a speech about the UK not joining the EEC. It has literally been populated by morons for over half a century
  7. Strange the way these things happen. Now Dave Haslam and I have a good number of mutual friends, we moved in similar circles back in the 80s and 90s albeit separated by 35 miles of the M62. I’m damn sure we've been in each others airspace a good number of times but doubt we've had much of a conversation. He would have been considerably more up the pecking order in any social pyramid than me… Even when he was a band I worked for's label boss at Play Hard. Yet yesterday I posted something on threads and now he's following me and interacting with my posts
  8. disappointing 57 in the end, changing captain from Salah to Isak with minutes to go was a damn stupid decision
  9. You are playing with fire here. It is thought that Gracie Fields was the first person to call it that in the 1920s Gracie Fields... you just can't dis Gracie Fields, it's like shooting an arrow into the heart of Britishness.
  10. Xitter - still have an account (As above for FPL mainly now) Facebook - still have an account, rarely post anything but it is a way of keeping in touch with people. My account was made private a long tima ago and there isn't anyone on there I don't know personally. Instagram - I have a default account, never knowingly used it. TikTok - never have I ever entertained the idea Threads - started recently, far more sane than Xitter but I'm reserving judgement. People on Threads seem to understand that engagement with knobheads drives more knobheads, block and don't engage appears to be the key, the algo learns from this. Reddit - yep, but I'm hardly a karma farmer
  11. They'll be allowed to surrender, prisoner exchanges are mutually beneficial
  12. I don’t understand why people celebrate birthdays if the truth be known
  13. Definitely this one, the other was late 60s / early 70s Also, it was my club in 1996
  14. Yes badly worded by me, This was the first gig of the Sting/Summers/Copeland line-up But you’re also wrong, this isn’t the first Summers gig, they existed and gigged as a four piece with both Padovani and Summers for a couple of months. Tbh I knew none of this until today, I just didn’t know that the classic line-up of The Police's first gig was in Brum
  15. Well there’s a door that could tell a few tales. It’s been through more than a few battles but I reckon that’s still the door from the 80s. Heathfield St off Bold St in Liverpool but actually the door of 59A Bold St. Liverpool had two Mardi Gras clubs in its time this is the one my generation knew. Big part of me, punter, owner, licensee, DJ, temporary speaker stack support… done all that and more behind that door
  16. Today in 1977, the Police made their debut as a 3 piece at Rebecca’s on John Bright St in Brum
  17. So polling is only good when it shows a clear winner? If The margin of error is bigger than the gap between the candidates it means it’s close or as they say, too close to call. Right now in the swing states that’s a massive improvement for Harris/Walz
  18. Nah, some US polls are a waste of time. US popular vote polls are certainly a waste of time for sure Individual swing state polling is much more useful though
  19. There’s small print to this though, when you read the articles, later in they mention that there’s still $300million in Russian assets they’ve seized that can be used, it just isn’t coming from central funding.
  20. Not so sure about that, they always knew it was lightly defended. The Russian and Georgian legions attached to the Ukrainian Army had at least three little trips of a day or more into Russia last year and they met with very little resistance each time. Ukraine denied responsibility on the others because they sent only Russians and Georgians. It seems the Russians didn't learn the lessons of those minor incursions.
  21. It is and it isn’t. Firstly consider that the reply is from a Republican Congressional candidate. He considers that online polling favours Dems, it maybe that it doesn’t to the extent he’s thinking (I serious have doubts about the extent of that otherwise it would never be the highest collection methodology) Secondly, that top methodology of having 25% of landlines in the responses seems a little nuts, presuming the US is like the UK and landlines are something older and likely more rural people have (more pro Trump) people have that would definitely have skewed the original methodology He didn’t complain about the former bias to his party in the polling, he’s only having a pop when the polls move and looking for a perceived flaw. All I see is an improvement of collection data methods TLDR: he's amplifying his own biases, doesn’t understand what he’s talking about and isn’t objective.
  22. It’s all grass that’s a very wrong colour
