  1. It’s like a Jimmy Somerville convention
  2. The bigger crime happened in August 1960 at the Jacaranda (which got a plaque outside today to celebrate their part in the dreadful events of that day)
  3. Yesterday, a very good friend of mine passed away from a heart attack. It won’t mean anything to anyone here apart from @theboyangel (he let us into the Porn Crumpets gig) who did meet him briefly but Roy Corkhill was a session bass player of some good standing. He was in Black and the Icicle Works but also played live with the likes of Joan Armatrading and Skin from Skunk Anansie and a whole bunch of other people. I worked with him in Black and at The Royal Court but we were good friends for a long time. I’m genuinely saddened because he really was one of he good guys, I’ve never met anyone that disliked him.
  4. objectively famous. The whole point is that it can't be something that is objective. You've failed to understand this the whole way through Fame isn't a tangible thing, it is entirely subjective
  5. Actually no, that's your metric. You think someone is really famous, to you they are, to others they aren't You appear to be assuming that because you know, that makes them famous. She is famous in a certain demographic, outside of that she's an absolute no-one King Charles, is really really famous. Paul McCartney is, ironically so is Banksy. They transcend demographics, she doesn't. Noel Gallagher is more famous than her but even then only within certain parameters. Just because you think she is, doesn't make it so.
  6. Love Island - nope Radio 1 - nope Adverts - nope Grime - nope Brit Awards - nope
  7. All depends but Cave's albums tend to be at the £30 level on release. I can still buy new release albums for £20-22, sometimes even cheaper
  8. no doubt for a ludicrous amount of money. As much as I love Cave, I have enough of his work to last me a lifetime and the pricepoint his albums get released at is offputting these days.
  9. I thought maya jama was some sort of silly American turn of phrase. At least I know its an actual person now
  10. Glad I’m not finally alone in thinking that, I get blank looks when I say that.
  11. Scientific? Certainly did exist? Consensus Just some of the words and phrases in that post that are highly questionable
  12. Thats a wendy house for adults?
  13. There are TWO sheds in that picture. Are you Sid in disguise?
  14. Do you ever use a dictionary to look up the meaning of words?
  15. You realise there's someone on here that collects sheds?
  16. Libya was slightly different though, there was a UN resolution so it was effectively a UN action led by NATO. It also included non-NATO countries like Qatar
  17. Its the other way around surely. There are fixed rules in the NATO charter, they just ignored them in the case of the Kosovo Intervention
  18. Can't see how they wouldn't, unfortunately it has to be tried by jury regardless of plea, so that will take some time. The bigger sentences will take longer to come out because of their very nature. Magistrates are only allowed to try summary offences where the sentence is within their limits. This is an indictable offence and the sentence is waaaaaay outside that that a magistrate can hand out
  19. Arson with intent to endanger life. Maximum sentence Life
  20. Anyway, to bring this back to its intended purpose. Pakistan has just charged someone with an offence in relation to spreading disinformation in relation to the Southport Attack
