  1. Yes.see the problem is if music is art and some people say might consider The B**tales to be I dunno, say, Leonardo Da Vinci, Oasis are a colour by numbers colouring book Its also not all one way traffic, those people that like colouring by numbers take the piss out of my “Obscure music that no one has heard of” and all the other digs like “there's music threads you know” etc. it does actually go both ways.
  2. I really don’t get the “your opinion is different, say nothing” or people shouldn’t take the piss… Just imagine if on this forum someone posted. “I think Birmingham City are a fine footballing establishment, all their players are wonderful and their fans are possibly some of the most intelligent outside of Villa Park” Music fans have always dissed the acts they don’t like for whatever reason, it’s just another form of tribalism. We can have some pretty intelligent conversations about music but nothings going to stop me calling the lead singer of U2 dog biscuit…
  3. You’ve seen the title of the country music topic ?
  4. They haven’t even reformed yet let alone announced they are doing Glasto
  5. Irish, North Walean and Lancashire. People often underestimate the Welsh influence, they fixate on the Irish.
  6. Oh good, you just lumped Oasis in with the Vengaboys
  7. You have this the wrong way around
  8. The real question is of course, how many Oasis fans will be going cold turkey just to afford the tickets?
  9. The Real People and a reformed Shack to support To be titled Bands of (unruly) Brothers
  10. Yeah there were definitely Merthyr words and Aberdare words. Confused the f*** out of the Catholics in Hirwaun because they went to school in Merthyr
  11. Substantial difference between Blaenavon and Abergavenny accent wise. People from Blaenavon don’t hang around in the peoples co-operative of Waitrose you see
  12. I reckon I’ve probably seen Oasis more times than anyone on VT I can only apologise to the world for promoting some of their early shows
  13. I actually traded some vinyl with a dealer today, first time I’ve ever done that. I traded a load of stuff from the gifted haul from a couple of months ago. Dire Straits, The Police, Simply Red, Paul McCartney, Wings a Music For Pleasure Beatles album, Level 42, just a bunch of albums I'd never play. He offered me £60 for them as a trade, so I just took 3 albums and a 12” to that value in exchange. Good deal from my POV, cost me nowt. I even watched him sell at least 3 of them before I left the shop £60 was way more than I was expecting tbh given the reputations dealers have. I got a Mogwai soundtrack double album, a Cabaret Voltaire 12” (on Factory), A Mick Harvey album of re-interpretations of Serge Gainsbourg tunes and a brand new repress of a Cluster album. When you’ve invested absolutely nothing in what your selling, can’t be a bad deal.
  14. Was just about to post much the same
  15. Well Russia are sending troops but they have to go an awfully long way around to get there.
  16. Saw this elsewhere… Oasis are the Eastenders of rock music, good for the first 18 months until it became all about two brothers arguing with each other
  17. You missed out Tito, he was there too
  18. It’s not the only thing that’s weird this week, Modi visiting Kyiv this week was also a little odd. “Wanting to help find peace”
  19. The missus has worked out how the record player works… l'm a little uneasy with this. It’s not what she plays as they are all my records… it’s the potential for damage and misfiling after use. I may have to lay ground rules.
  20. I've never had any experience of their routing because I've never wanted to Google has got so bad that I use it to discover where a road is and then turn it off. Almost guaranteed my route is quicker and shorter, even with road closures I navigate around them better. And I’m absolutely sick to death of passengers telling me I'm going the wrong way because they are using google maps in the car to make sure I’m going the right way.
  21. If they did I didn’t realise. Google maps is still shit though
  22. Google maps is shit and always has been shit. It’s also getting worse It also powers shit things like U**r and that powers U**r to rip off all its customers because they base their prices on Googles totally shit routing algorithm.
  23. This is me. Even had a reputation for it on trips away with the lads. Crew Position - Navigator, which had the advantage of being the non-driver and front seat. Road trip around the SW USA, I used to look at the map in the morning and navigate without reference to it for the rest of the day. I guess it’s why I eventually ended up doing what I do now, it started as a joke and ended up as a career.
