  1. Abstaining due to the daftness of the question a) We wont be buying Cole Beattie wont be £6mil next time around
  2. I'm with Nayson I'm afraid Den, I couldn't decide, I mean the 60's, the decade when popular music exploded and gave us the Stones, the Who and whole heap of great music as long as you ignore Liverpool. The 70's at the sart (ok the end of the 60's) gave us the Bitrth of Metal and mainly from the Midlands too and after that had eaten itself we had punk towards the end. Next came the 80's which if you ignore all the pop crap actually produced some very fine independant music coming out of the ashes of Punk and New Wave. The there's the 90's the decade of Nirvana and Radiohead (bends / OKCOMP era anyway) Its just too hard to decide, me I'd lean towards anything from the 60's to the 80's but I really couldn't cut it down any further than that. Just remember Rock Rocks and Pop sucks
  3. A question? How many Centre Halves do Saints have? Now that Svensson is out for the rest of the year, will they need the money to buy another one? Is this the reason they "seem" to have softened their stance today?
  4. Often wondered if he's been released yet? I overheard the one in the Ugly South saying that he thought Whittaker had been barking mad for at least two years prior to the attack but maybe that was just old band rivalries
  5. Probably right about Anthony H Wilson, can't stand the bloke, I had the pleasure of knocking him back at the free trade hall in Manchester once (at a Mondays gig - "your names not on the list.........!") - made me laugh for days - no joke Don't believe those music journo's, saw ACR a few times - they weren't that good to be honest, much prefered the early incarnation of James (similar time frame and label), who were shambolic but entertaining, I always found ACR a tad dull even live
  6. I did wonder  I agree about Duritti, I have a few albums, song for dawn being a favourite track of mine (I think thats what its called anyway) but ACR always got far too much press considering what they were a new wave funk band who wore combat shorts and had nazi haircuts, arty for arty's sake
  7. Spot on with the Housemartins assasination (mind you the drummer was off his rocker - why is that always the case) ACR ? Durrutti Column? What next Stockholms Monsters, come on lets face it ACR and Vini Reilly were an interesting aside nothing more nothing less I mean have you listened to "Sextet" its utter rubbish
  8. Ah the memories, Tower Ballroom in Edgebaston by the resovoir. The tour for the first album supported by the Red Guitars, one of those gigs you never forget. Also saw them at Liverpool Uni on the same tour (they were playing there the night of my interview for the course I did - how convenient!). Saw them quite a few times after that too but that performance in Brum remains as one of the best gigs in my memory. Went a bit downhill after The Queen is Dead in terms of consistency but a great band nonetheless. New Morrissey Album is also great which is a shame, why is it a shame? because I have it on good authority that if it had failed The Smiths were getting back together. What a double edged sword that is. Safe to say I'm a fan
