  1. I agree with the first bit, which is why i voted Yes. He is the sort of signing that DOL would like to see 4 more of. Not a squad filler, but a probbale improvement on the first 11 who would be highly lilkely to go straight into the team. Do I want him at VP? Not especially. Dislike him intensely, as a person. I'm also not too sure what he offers over and above the Dazz Vass meister. His scoring record/ratio is no better. But, If DOL wants and rates him, then Yes, he would be a quality signing, in as much as it shows we have some ambition to go and get some of the bigger name, better players in the Prem and pay some significant transfer fees and wages. Still think there were/are better options out there though, other than bellendamy. That sums upo my opinion on the matter too, not my ideal choice but it would certainly count towards the DOL quality quotient
  2. I'd take the word overated out of the dictionary, its bloody meaningless
  3. Agreed, we've gona a bit polltastic of late
  4. In total I have about 400Gb Main drive is 120Gb Secondary Drive (Which I use purely as a photoshop scratch disk - it has absolutely nowt on it apart from temp photoshop files) - 80Gb Portable Hard Drive - (photostorage) - 200Gb
  5. Good to see the Meaning Evils website still peddling the odd half truth
  6. £60-£80 mil would be my guess as that would make him significantly richer than he is considered at the moment
  7. In Villa terms, this is the year 2012 we are talking about yes?
  8. Yep, so much for not signing players while Doug's in hospital. As has been said, I don't think anyone doubted Snide could sign players at this level (ie amount of money), its when we start hitting the million pound mark the problems will start
  9. Hasn't Bellamy had periods of missing sitter after sitter? Where's WMNG when you need him, bloody Jocks. Whilst Darius isn't the greatest finisher in the world there's no way he misses the sitters that Bellamy does
  10. 7 actually Juge, and Hughes was on the pitch for every single one of them
  11. Strange that as the fee was more in the region of £20mil (plus future payments triggered by achievements whilst at Manure) and the second installment isn't actually due until this summer. They've bought BT out of last years plus paid off a small portion of their £40mil debt They have burbled on about "New Investment" for three seasons now, its never showed up, they are still as skint as a very skint thing
  12. remind me again, who currently "owns" this Arteta you speak of? Ah he's still a Sociedad player is he not. I agree Davies isn't Gravesons direct replacement, they haven't done that yet (and probasbly won't) but he's the only player they've bought to date who plays in midfield I really doubt either are on £40k plus a week, seriously and if you think Everton aren't skint any more then please give me reasons why, have they made £40mil profit in the last 18 months? they'd be an absolute footballing phenomenon if they had They haven't signed him yet, just wait till the medical throws up a terminal big toe
  13. That'll be the day this happens:-
  14. Does this include 5mill on Udinese's Denmark international central defender Per Kroldrup? wonder what his wages are? and if any other club should have the motto ITSOTP its Everton note:- he's got to have a medical yet and this is Everton's doctors we're talking about here, he could be in Norway and the doctors in the carribean on holiday and he'd fail it
  15. They aren't in the CL just yet, they might even draw Celtic in the qualifying round, there's some serious teams in the qualifying this year They aren't the team now, that they were at the start of last year, just look at their results post-Graveson (that fourth spot was there for the taking - its just no-one took it), nowhere near their early season form and even though they are in the CL Qualifying, they seem to have replaced Graveson with an injury prone Spurs reserve, have the majority of their defence stalling on new contracts because the offer is lower than they are currently on and if they sign Distin, the others will be mightily p***ed off. Bellamy would end up as the highest paid player at Everton by a factor of about 3 - It just doesn't add up that they can afford either of them
  16. Everton can't afford the wages of either of them, they are trying to reduce the wage bill considerably, they have three defenders who still haven't agreed new contracts (lower wages than previous being the sticking point) If they sign Distin, they will have sign at least two more defenders on higher wages than the ones that are currently there increasing the wage bill. And the only way they'll sign Bellamy is if Newcastle pay 3/4 of the wages for remainder of his contract with them Everton can't afford to sign either of them. If Everton sign anyone, they will be more in the Cahill mode, someone needing to make the step up and cheap wages wise, than already established Premiership players.
  17. To turn a phrase around, different horse, same jockey Does old rupe have an axe to grind with Glazer by any chance
  18. Given the current state of affairs, 10th or lower is the only option
  19. Jesus wept, I've been away a week and it seems I've come back to VT a decade earlier, read the first two pages and gave up Definately Maybe the best Debut Album ever? - not f***ing likely - its a decent album but its not even the best debut album by a band from Manchester Blur could never cut it live, albarn can't sing? - Ever seen Oasis Live, that just about sums up Liam if you ask me Both bands have had their moments, both bands are also full of s***, neither come close to being the best band ever so why this ancient debate I don't know. The Blur vs Oasis thing was both bands record companies wet dream, free publicity for all. It was media driven and totally irrelevant Just for the record Blur have by far and away the better body of work, out of the two bands. However Oasis have the best tunes, make of that what you will
  20. I've voted neutral as I don't follow any political doctrine as such, I make my own mind up on the issues at hand. If I was to kind of put my own personal philosophy into a brief statement it would probably be pragmatical libertarian (and please don't confuse libertarian with right wing its not)
  21. Where's the "what money, what promise, wibble, wibble " option
  22. Is that an admission that we didn't have enough defenders (esp Centre Backs) going into the start of the last campaign as I and quite a few others argued and you on the other hand BW disagreed with?
  23. Why on earth would you want sunglasses at glasto for? Its gonna rain rain rain
  24. Hughes can play right and left back, centre back and has been known to play centre midfield too, For that sheer versatility alone he should be bought
  25. Didn't particulaly want Beattie in the first place but the real issue was that DOL did and the club yet again failed to get the managers target
