  1. I accept since he left us he has improved by leaps and bounds which is understandable, as he's several years older, but good with his head ??? For his height advantage he's awful, he never attacks the ball always deflects it Crouch is quite literaly the worst header of a ball in the premiership. The Kuyt goal yesterday he headed the ball just outside the 6 yard box and it wasn't going to reach the goal line without bouncing. Can someone actually tell me where I said Crouch was good with his head? Sometimes I really do want to tear my hair out, why do people read three words of a sentence and post a supposedly contrary opinion. And don't start me on the fact that the little winky thing at the end indicated that the comment wasn't to be taken seriously. Sometimes people should read more and post less
  2. If he was Peter Crouch's height he'd be shit at headers too, he's got no neck - important for power & direction
  3. Isnt that how he got his break in football as an interpretor?
  4. depends Tony, you could keep it on and turn it so it has a minimal effect but it still takes roughly three stops of any exposure. How many lenses do you have? If its only the one then you can buy the screw on type that just screws onto the lens, if its more than one then its probably more cost effective so go with a system where you only have to buy a new adaptor ring for each lens but the system filters (Lee, Hoya, cokin) are more cumbersome and time consuming Circular polarizers are the only surefire method of getting rid of reflections during capture
  5. oh btw I didnt realise this was still on the net, many of the newer contibutors probably havent seen my old Website which is still available here
  6. Can we cut out the text speak please? Posting in English is a site rule
  7. Yep and its getting worse, the RAW files for the Nikon D2Xs were unreadable by PS, Nikon wouldnt release the data so Adobe were struggling to do anything about it. Don't know if the problem has been solved yet but what a Great idea by Nikon, your top level Pro Camera can't be used by the Top Level Pro software - excellent! Could be wrong but i think cs2 can do it.. not sure how well but believe it handles nef. ps here´s a link for you all.. it gets deep but is worth a look http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials.htm Each Nikon Model has its own version of nef, the D2Xs version has caused Adobe no end of problems, especially as Nikon weren't helping by not releasing the code. That was the situation a few months ago, I have yet to find out if its been fixed yet - something I do need to find out

  9. Yes and I know it actually gets good write up but I find it hunts way too much for my liking
  10. I've got the Nikkor 18-70 (55) mm kit lens that came with the D70 a Tamron zoom up to 300mm (totally wank at either end of the scale) and a Tamron Macro lens that I don't particularly like either
  11. Well the thing is have you seen the fecking price of that top end canon! The difference between the two isnt bloody worth over 2 grand and as my main priority is a camera above 10MP because that is way to close to the filesize limit of the stock photography librarys the Nikons 12.4 MP is enough plus it means I can save on somethings with the lens I already have. Its possible to buy a D2Xs for 2.6k these days (and dropping) which for a newish model at 800 quid discount isnt a bad deal at all Hmm.. what nikon lenses have you got or has your dad got knocking around?! I was playing with an old manual nikon 50mm f2 last night, hence the photo i posted, and i´m on the hunt for some old, now cheap, lenses.. my mate got that one for about 20 quid! I've only actually got the one Nikkor, my others are two tamrons nikon fits and neither is that impressive
  12. Are we talking "Scene modes" here? Never used them to be honest, not the best way to learn either imo try auto and study the settings then try Aperture priority to learn about what the aperture does, then do the same with shutter priority to learn about shutter speeds (either one first tbh)

(just going through my Dads Camera's - he is mad he's got way too many) The Lumix has a Leica lens!
  14. Not been contributing to this much recently, too much other stuff going on unfortunately BUT I think I've decided to stay with Nikon, the D2Xs being high on my priorities in the coming months, that and a few new lenses (fish Eye, Ultra wide, True Macro, long VR telephoto zoom...........) flashgun, Apple computer and I might buy a D200 as a handbag camera too Nice idea for a SP B23, the focus on the lens is spot on and thats fecking tricky in a mirror sometimes - good job dude! (shame its a Fuji though - says a man whose just got his hands on A panasonic Lumix with tele adaptor)
  15. You mean the Wayne Bridge that showed his true footballing ambition by recently signing a new contract despite the fact he is Ashley Cole's permanent understudy. Don't really want to sign a player who is content to be on the bench just for the money
  16. no need, this mod contributes quite heavily anyway when I get the chance
  17. That path brings back bad memories, I had to do Geological map of the area when I was at Uni, on my own! (6 weeks!)
  18. This isn't the place for this discussion. this is the place to ask the general questions and get replies
  19. Cant we post in English please not text speak - Bicks
  20. Good question on the land deal Ian, I'm really interested in the Generals reply to that one
  21. This thread and poll will close at 6pm tonight
  22. Ozzy's last footballing conection was walking out onto the Watford Ppitch with his missus - both adorning Watford Scarves. If Ozzy was a Villa fan would he really allow his son to support sha?
  23. But if You are Spizz, where's Captain Kirk ? Welcome btw
  24. Has to be said thats the worst version of RotV I've ever heard BUT I kind of agree with you its not that great a tune to run out to Me I'd have gone a slightly different route in a classical way I'd have gone for some Grogorian Chanting right at the start and then let that kick into Mars (Bringer of War) from Holst's Planet Suite But I didnt enter the debate earlier so its my own fault (that and I've only just thought of it) (So thats a combination of Bunnymen & Bauhaus concert openings from the eighties )
