    The Twang

having no mp3 player at the moment due to leaving the bloody charger in Brum  I've had to listen to a lot of radio 1 this week, this is on heavy rotation and its begining to really get on my tits Starts off with stupid voice talk over vocals a la The Streets, then carries on in a baggy lite pastiche of the Madchester era bands, the ones that didn't make it and they didn't make it for a reason So far this is a fecking awful year for music, at the moment I'm struggling to find ten albums I actually like from this year, most of the albums I was looking forward to have disappointed in some shape or form Kind of Northside meets Small Heath - Horrible
  2. I think most of the people who have responded atheist in this poll, judging by this and other debates we've had are fairly nailed on atheists tbh I agree (see above) though that the amount of agnostics should be higher as some of the non practising Christians are, according to what they've said, actually agnostic
  3. Hardest Artist I ever had to get on stage - Gil Scott Heron So laid back he was almost horizontal, that and he was stoned to a degree only Lee Perry would possibly understand
  4. A tripod has the same effect for me Full Frame was something that nearly made me switch to Canon but I opted to stick with Nikon in the end
  5. I think Sit Down Potato Head still uses film but he doesn't post any of his photo's on here as a result privateer, that is one great sunset! drat - what type of flower was that you posted btw?
  6. I use imageshack Then post the very bottom url using the image tags ie: [img]paste the url here[/img] [/code]
  7. I think its because most of the agnostics don't understand the term tbh (see above) Those non-practising Christians are in the main agnostics too I reckon
  8. no point in having a great body and putting cheap glass on it Its the best thing I've ever bought, the glass should last a lifetime-ish (hopefully), the body won't need changing for a good while yet imo it does everything I need (and a whole lot more), I'm lucky that I was able to afford it all, very lucky indeed Now all I need is the time to get out there and Shoot
  9. I'd say that was Agnostic more than non-practising christian
  10. D200 is definitely a step up from a D70s D70 / D80 series are classed as amateur cameras, D200 is classed as a pro camera Its not as good as my D2Xs though
  11. another place (in fact its the same place, the same wind farm from roughly the same spot, much wider lens but that's what the statues are called - same bloke that did Angel of the North)
  12. A tall ship about to enter the Mersey about half an hour ago gotta love that 400mm end of the lens, shot with tripod, remote release VR on Not the greatest light, you won't be able to see it here but I am impressed with the sharpness at the 400mm end of the lens. Also impressed with the way the camera handled the light
  13. Dunno, I've got rampant toothache, maybe if I turn to religion I can say it was all god's fault - the ****
  14. You can't be born with a belief surely? (ok ok I'm being picky for the sake of it, I know you meant born into a Christian family )
  15. I think Tony is right Doesnt happen very often but he's right You don't need to know the first thing about a poolitical party to defend their right to free speech. Its a principal of democracy and as Ian says, the only parties that should be banned from airing their views are those that preach violence As for the SWP as RICO points out (in his own way) they are a bunch of Trotskyite socialist fascists. Their version of Entryism started way back in the 70's with Rock against Racism, bunch of arseholes who know that if they just stood up and yold their real policies they'd be laughed at and told to get back to the circus so they have to hide behind all these front organisations to try to recruit to build the party large enough to start the next revolution a bit like the new cuddly BNP who hide behind their new reasonableness to try and gain more support for their party, when really they are a bunch of racist fuckwads. BNP / SWP - same horse different jockey as far as I'm concerned but both should be allowed to air their views, whats that saying about knowing your enemy? well if they are forced underground they become a whole lot more dangerous imo
  16. Awsome - now its JohnCale doing Venus in Furs from Later with Jools Holland - most excellent
  17. "because the Night" - Patti Smith purely because I'm playing the TV Prog New York Rock at the BBC on my BBC iplayer (Beta Testing) And whilst I type its changed to "Perfect Day" by Lou Reed
  18. I'd say advertising a whites only shop was racist by anyones definition of the word and anyway back to the Nosmo King debate please
  19. Yes but you can't advertise it, that would be racism
  20. Are the pub owners allowed to discriminate and put labels on people? Yes, in the UK you have the right to not serve anyone you choose for whatever reason you see fit, you do not have to give a reason. You are in charge of order in your establishment, to take away the licensee's right to discriminate you also take away the right of the establishment to prosecute the landlord for offences that take place on his property.
  21. I call them the itsnotfairies
  22. Or he took a step up from the French League to the Premier League!
  23. Right just to clear some things up, Pubs are not public places. The licensee has the right to refuse to serve anyone for any reason he sees fit, no one has the right of access to a pub, he is there at the licensee's discretion And a 2.8% downturn in business is enough to close some pubs on the margins of the trade, it may sound an insignificant amount but it isn't
