  1. Don't suppose you'd like to read the actual quotes in the context they originally appeared? as opposed to the Mails bullshit? just click back a few pages , it was said in this thread, then if you wish to read further read the thread dedicated to it in the Villa Talk forum, you might just change your mind
  2. Now listening to the new Foo Fighters album Treads no new ground at all, ploughs a very similar furrow to previous releases and is rather dull imo
  3. Me I'm listening to the new Orb album (The Dream) with its extra track for Japanese release Its nowt special tbh, its just the orb, still nowhere near as good as the first two albums but its ok as aural walpaper in the mornings
  4. I think the fact manchester has one of the biggest football clubs in the world makes more people aware of it across the globe, whereas we have a bunch of clowns representing our city This is Man Citeh we're talking about? Man Utd being part of Trafford!
  5. Could we do that if wolverhampton and coventry are cities in there own right Salford is a city in its own right, its boundary also starts about a mile or less from Deansgate in Manchster
  6. Have a scout round t'internet and you will see Manchester marketing itself as the second city. In fact they have a second city display in the urbis gallery discussing this, last time I checked it out the "debate" was being won by the brummies. It involved a load of post it notes on a wall
  7. It doesn't require much thought, its a fact - Birmingham The reason being, the city of Manchester ISN'T that big, Manchester appear to want to add, Salford and all the other council areas to get their population figures - real population of Manchester is under half a million. These other areas include Bolton, Rochdale, Oldham etc etc and these are all towns in their own right, Salford is in fact another city. If Manchester can add up all those areas population then Birmingham can add the whole of the West Midlands conurbation, Its a close run thing but the population of the West Mids is still Greater than Greater Manchester

    The Twang

really, they aren't devoid of any originality and a mere pastiche of those that they find inspiration in
  9. Can we please keep this thread for comments / questions specifically to the general, hold your conversations in the other threads in the main forum ta
  10. Nice shots tony howwas the bright sunshine hindering you? reflections? shutter speed to fast? If it was the shutter speed being too fast (ie you wanted to slow it down for that impression of speed) then a Neutral Density filter is what you are looking for, they come in various strengths and depending on how much you want to slow it down depends on the strength you need Alternatively, you can reduce reflections (and some glare) (and slow the shutter speed down at the same time, plus enhance the colors in your shots) with a circular polarizer
  11. it only allows a certain amount of options, you went one louder so the last got chopped
  12. nowt wrong with shadow, it adds depth, more annoying for me would be the dark bit of the wall over your sons shoulder Can easily be photoshopped out though (same goes for the shadow) too Tony Its a niceshot though, theres a real sparkle in the laqds eye
  13. yep theres a review of ultra wide angles in one of the photo mags this month and the sigma comes out top
  14. I'm sure you can work it out for yourself
  15. Where the hell did people get the idea that internet is a democracy? Bloody strange if you ask me If you don't like the site guidelines don't bother coming here If you're prepared to adhere to them all well and good If people want to see how freedom of speech comes across on a message board, well theres another Villa site out there just for you, its quite well known, run by a nice bloke and totally unreadable in the main
  16. Well that is a good question, I thought he was on the right of a central three personally and if thats the case its the tactics more than the player that left Gardner exposed. Others will tell you Petrov was playing wide right but I saw little or no evidence of that tbh
  17. I agree, kept things ticking over at times but not a great deal more. The report says Gardner struggled and is not a right back. A few lines later it criticises Petrov who played on the right. Now I'm not really sure if he was supposed to on the right side of 3 in the centre or one of 4, but he was poor and left our right side very exposed for Gardner to deal with on his own, so give the lad a break. Petrov also left us with no options down our right - what exactly was he doing? Also, I don't know how you can feel sorry for Baird as he only brought Young down twice. The first was a textbook yellow card, and the second he brought him down as he drove into the box - another sure yellow. Perhaps we would have had 2 more goals if he hadn't commited those fouls. So let me get this right don't blame Gardner because he plays out of position, it was Petrov's fault because he was playing out of position. not sure I understand the logic of that
  18. yup some nice shots Damian, used to have an Olympus Trip as a kid, my first camera I think
  19. its tempting, seriously it is can you see that mounted on canvas on a chain of cafe / coffee shop walls ? I can
