  1. Its not as bad as the Jack Penate version but LWTUA is one of those songs that shouldn't be covered imo, no one has bettered the original that I've heard and Paul Young is still wanted by the war crimes tribunal for his version........ Me right now I'm listening to Buffalo Toms version of Going Underground
  2. yeah right and I suppose the bodies and the forensics were irrelevant........it was the clubcard that done for them We'd have been alright love if it hadn't been for that Meddling clubcard the again the kids would still be alive if the database had worked and the police checks had been thorough enough, its not like he didnt have previous cautions But if it hadn't been for that clubcard...................
  3. In keeping with the theme of the night Making Plans for Nigel - Nouvelle Vague
  4. Seriously do you really believe the only evidence they had against Maxine Carr was a Tesco Clubcard? If it was my daughter I very much doubt I'd be extolling the virtues of a database society to catch some criminals that were caught by good old fashioned policing (note the database society aspect of the policing failed - the CRB checks were **** up on Huntley completely) So I'd probably saying lets invest in more "traditional" resources for the police, this database bullshit doesn't work Yes, even you ignored what I said, shame on the girl. she didnt deserve it :?: I ignored it because it was irrelevant emotive bollocks

  6. Aye looks good MF, its erm winging its way to me as we speak
  7. Well its a damn sight better than the Vines version of Miss jackson, which would be a travesty just to post but I did listen to it just now, just to check how shit it was
  8. hmm might have to run away and erm "obtain" that, I have the greatest hits CD but not the trinkets one
  9. Maxine Carr is irrelevant bullshit, An ID card wouldn't have stopped Ian Huntly, it wouldn't have stopped 9/11 and it wouldn't have stopped the London bombings or anytrhing else Nor would it stop any fraud nor would it stop illegal immigration in fact illegal immigrants would still get loyalty cards because arrrrghhhhhh loyalty cards are just a way of getting dumb idiots to give away their personal info really cheaply, they don't ask for a passport when you get one Think about this, did they track down Huntly and Carr because they used a tesco Loyalty Card? Nope that was good old fashioned police work Did the police use good old fashioned police work to fit up Barry George? nope and they got found out - eventually You start introducing all this biometric bollocks into our lives and the police will soon find a way to fit up people biometrically too and the thing is, people have faith in technology, its foolproof at least they question good old fashioned policework
  10. What is that on MF, I don't have it so it must be fairly obscure
  11. Ah but thats not as good as this one of Evans, from his band days in the Lemonheads - here he tries to prove a monkey has talent - Different Drum and here he proves even Suzanne Vega could write a tune - Luka good covers band the Lemonheads, shame the stuff they wrote themselves was nowhere near as good (Mrs Robinson was wa*k tho)
  12. Studio Version is much better, thats a thin tinny live version
  13. Aye it was also on Q Covered 86/06 a magazine cover disk (which is where I was in the CD library after realising it wasn't in my digital library and it needed to be) So I've gone completely Cover version mad tonight I've also played the Prodigy's version of Ghost Town by the Specials (which isnt as bad as it sounds) a few times (off the album I mentioned previously) Garbages version of Butterfly Collector by the Jam which is a fine cover and now I'm ripping the Q Covered album which if memory serves me correct also has Richard Hawley doing Some Candy Talking and Nick Cave doing Disco 2000 Oh yes and the Magic Numbers doing There is a light that never goes out Cover version frenzy!
  14. Two business class flights to Barbados - 10 nights paid for in hotels - damn you devil - but thank you loyalty card :-) Are you really that cheap?
  15. You just made me go back to the original MF, I think its a great cover tbh Bit like the full on Editors version of Lullaby by the Cure which I listen to regularly they also did a cracking version of REM's Orange crush somewhere along the line
  16. illegal immigrants, are they really that much of a problem? Is the country totally over-run with them? Thought not thats just xenophobic nonsense. Even half the poles are going back to Poland because they can make more money there, Seriously you think illegal immigrants are coming here and stealing "our" jobs? Does it really matter? They will only be doing jobs that no one else will do anyway What fraud is it going to stop? Please, how do you come to that conclusion? Did you read the two articles I posted (one from the Times and one from the Guardian - for balance naturally) you admit you haven't read much into it, please please please do that, this has absolutely sod all to do with your fears and paranoid feelings, thats just what the Govt want you to believe
  17. Totally sep[arate issue but similar I suppose Strange as it may seem but I am actually sitting here typing this in a T-shirt that actually has printed on it "NO I Do Not Have A Fu*King Nectar Card" The fact that people are prepared to give away the story of their lives for often less than 1% of their shopping bill totals always amazes me Do you realise how valuable that information is to the peopl that run the cards Loyalty cards are the devils work - seriously, rip them all up now, stop giving multinational companies ways of exploiting you more effectively
  18. Yep thats right, the fraud going on in this country is vastly more important that the the civil liberties of all citizens, how can you be so naive, really? And you don't really believe that rubbish do you? I wouldn't believe it for a minute Fakeproof passport cloned in minutes How many banks and other institutions that are subject to fraud carry the machines to check these passports ? What makes you think the ID cards are going to be any different, hold on why do we need both?
  19. Very righteous. Very very naive. Money talks. A true free person need not prove anything. A true free person will not pay taxes and be totally self sufficient. No law enforcement requirement. No refuse collection. No electricity requirement. No Euro/ WHO trade dependency. We rely on the Gov't to help us. They control us. Very submissive
  20. Tom Smith (Yep the Bloke from the Editors) - Bonny (Yep a cover of the Prefab Sprout Song) its off the Independents Day ID08 compilation Album, an interesting concept, disk one is covers by established artists, Disk 2 is original material by up & coming artists recommended by the established artists / labels involved. Proceeds to charity and music related projects
  21. then you wont mind being locked up for forgetting it Read PB's post, he sums it up perfectly........THEY work for US
  22. I think I'll get them to sack me as I can see absolutely no need for my employer to see either my birth cerrtificate or my passport for the following reasons:- a) I have a National Insurance number I have a Private Hire Drivers Licence issued by the council for which the birth certificate / passport are already a requisite c) I need to have said private hire drivers licence to enable me to do my job (company job condition) d) If anyone who has ever met me (bearing in mind I have worked for them for 7 years) can put up a decent convincing case that I'm anything other than British born and bred I'll relent
  23. Here's a question, sort of related / sort of not I got an email in work yesterday asking all staff to bring in either their passport or birth certificate which we were told was to do with proving that the company doesn't employ illegal immigrants Is this new legislation? Some legislation that our firm has somehow overlooked until now? Or simply bollocks?
  24. When you say Zuiko 35mm macro lens Do you mean this one? 35mm is awfully wide for a Macro lens even on the 4/3rds system I have no experience of using extension tubes sorry Cat but as a general rule you get better results with the camera manufacturers tubes than third party ones but the gap is not always that noticeable Have you tried asking on some of the 4/3rds user groups on the net? They'd more than likely give you a much better answer than any of us
