  1. Oh yes and the Bunnymen were better by far
  2. I was going to post that for you earlier on, its true, all of what you said, totally true The Smiths were good, very good, but not the best And just for Mr Barnes, yes Joy Division were better than the Smiths too, two albums but two albums that are better than any one single Smiths album, more influential too. The bands that heavily borrow from Joy Division are generally better tha those that take their cue from the Smiths
  3. why do the percentages only ad up to 97% How did 3% make them selves invisble
  4. Bangers & Mash - Radiohead For the 15th time apparently
  5. Not all, but quite a few are. Did you just unwittingly admit to being ugly?
  6. find someone whose kids have it and take your kids round At the same time sod off on Holiday for a month jobs a good un
  7. Seriously you don't want it, it happened to me when I was in my early 30's, most disgusting illness ever, waking up every day in a bed full of scabs Its far harder to recover from in adulthood too
  8. 10% the figure is reckoned to be but I reckon a football forum is not exactly representiative of the population at large You might think that but as the poll is currently stating 89% straight you might actually be wrong
  9. 5 years ago my Dad was alive and relatively healthy, 5 years ago my missus didn't have cancer Right now it feels like I'm worse off, though there have been many other positives too, when the missus recovers things will be better than they were five months ago let alone five years ago
  10. Bicks in good taste in music at last shocker ... I might frame this post for prosperity I've always had taste Tony, you on the other hand.................
  11. The Smiths, The The (a band he was in far longer than the Smiths timewise), Electronic, Modest Mouse, The Cribs, Talking Heads, The Pretenders, Billy Bragg, Black Grape, Pet Shop Boys, Beck, Kirsty McColl, Brian Ferry, Oasis, Pearl Jam, Crowded House, M People, Tom Jones, John Frusciante and Girls Aloud. Just some of the bands and artists that Johhny Marr has either been an official member of or a guest musician on albums You don't get to play with that many people, in that many diverse styles by being just half decent
  12. Love the Smiths, can't understand the need for the latest Best of In fact you could probably pick up the entire set of studio albums for the price of the new double CD these days.
  13. Oh I'm still firmly in the Spoil ballot bracket, with the proviso that if the BNP stand I will then change my vote to the party least likely to get elected that isn't the BNP
  14. Sorry Mich, I'm still reading upon it myself so I cant explain it fully on here yet
  15. They both have completely differing and opposing solutions to the current economic crisis, clear and substantially different policy approaches, the lines between the two became significantly clearer after the pre-election speeches in the HOC
  16. From my point of view, albeit an outsider's point of view, I don't think the tories would be much of a change really. In what specific areas do you believe the Conservative Party would change Britain for the better? I think you posted that on the very day that there became a very clear distinction between the two parties
  17. Righty Ho as promised the new politics thread. Firstly this topic will contain a poll but not an indefiite one, one with a finite end Secondly this topic will be locked at the end of November when the poll runs out, another one can be started at the start of next month (as long as the poll is time limited to the end of that month) You may also discuss any "general" political points in here, specific things like the Pre-budget announcement today etc can have their own specific topics s per usual So The initial question is, If there were a General Election tomorrow which way would you vote?
  18. Not wanting to be a killjoy here but I'm locking this because the Poll is completely inaccurate as it contains many votes from some time ago, I shall start a new thread almost straight away
  19. not sure of the timing snowy and it may even have been the day before, I'm on nights this week so its all a bit of a blur............ They'll probably defer a decision until they've worked out how much money they owe me (£440 on the electricity account, still waiting on the gas - I intend to cash in whilst the unit price is high ) edit: Buy Low sell high, thats how to win the energy game isnt it?
  20. hmm can't find it snowy, I was going off the story on 5Live yesterday, which had an SSE spokesman on and some bloke from an Energy suppliers umbrella organisation als. I may have misinterpreted the article but I was sure they said southern had announced reductions in January
  21. And that is far from certain to happen. Southern have already announced fuel price cuts from January, so thats Southern, Swalec, Scottish Hydro and Atlantic. I'm fairly sure the market will follow suit but its a bit of a bugger right now as I was about to consult uswitch when this was announced
  22. No one, holteExile, myself or anyone else has said anything different.
  23. There is nothing unique in the name Liverpool FC because there is a South Liverpool FC also
  24. Exactly the same for us with small heath but in our instance smal heath actually broke an agreement that neither club should take the name of the city
