  1. Same with Areola /Turner for me Currently on a very healthy 82 with Areola and Estupinan to play. I suppose a 0-0 is too much to ask for But given the current league average for the week is 50 I'm very happy with that
  2. I am disappointed that the Dexy's image hasn't been rolled out
  3. Your point about Lulu really wasn't valid in the first place
  4. Fripp and Eno - (No Pussyfooting) Fripp and Eno's first dabble at a UK version of the Kosmiche, groundbreaking stuff for the UK and I guess this is also the first seedlings of Bowie's Berlin trilogy
  5. So I didn’t go round the brother-in-laws last night because his and my missus sister would be there. I obviously did the dutiful thing and took the missus and picked her up again at 1am but I absolutely refused to spend the evening in her company. The missus was fine with this, she knew I wouldn’t go. This isn’t what’s pissing me off. Its having to listen to the missus moaning about her f***ing sister last night all day today… All I can say is, I knew all this 30 years ago She's never coming here again…. You said that last time It’s like the bitch is tormenting me even though she’s not here
  6. Nah we'll just start a Tony's correct proportion of lemonade to beer topic in your honour
  7. Oh look, another almost reasonably priced album (£14.99) Dr Alimantado - Love Is A compilation of his work with Lee Perry, King Tubby, Joe Gibbs… featuring everyone humanly possible, I think every reggae studio musician you've ever heard of is on here somewhere, even Jah Woosh (for another On-U connection), Augustus Pablo, Revolutionaries,Upsetters, oh everyone… Earliest track is 1971 latest is 1983 Dr Alimantado was popular with the punks, John Lydon praised him (probably during his Jamaican Frontline A&R sojourn) and The Clash even name checked him song, Rudie Can't Fail (“Like the a doctor that was born for a purpose”)

All seems fine today but was happening a lot yesterday
  9. Another of those oh look back catalogue vinyl releases can be reasonably priced days. Classic Hard Bop album Brilliant Corners by Thelonious Monk, on black 180g vinyl, Priced at the almost reasonable just under £17 Yes, it’s where the Bristol based Indie Poppers got their name from.
  10. The relevant weights and measures act in the UK predated even EEC membership by some considerable time
  11. System 7 and Banco de Gaia too. Both were huge with me along with The Orb around then but Hillage has such a history and it was through The Orb / System 7 link that made me go backwards to explore Gong / Caravan and the like
  12. Shit, is Ruby Turner unemployed now? Stopped watching Hooteybollox years ago, year on year it became worse and worse, oh look Lenny Henry’s in the audience again, so is Ade Edmunson, blah blah blah.

It seems posts can’t be edited. It’s acting like 365 days are up. Suspect it might be specifically to do with today and when site clock ticks over to 2024 it will just disappear. Raising it in case it doesn't. Edit: This only started happening today, also if you subsequently go back and edit again, it works. Odd! Edit. Actually scrap that it seems to be working again. Twas iPad and latest version of iOS for the record.
  14. Edwin Astley - Randall and Hopkirk Deceased, Original Soundtrack Selections As well as being the composer of TV themes and incidental music, Astley was Pete Townsend's Father-in-law, the father 80s artist Virginia Astley (of the Ravishing Beauties and solo - Bunnymen /Teardrops connection here too) and Jon Astley, who whilst he did release a few records is best known as a producer and remastering expert (he remastered The WHO’s back catalogue)
  15. Also on my way home but not quite inspired by the exhibition
  16. I went to an exhibition yesterday of Tom Wood AKA Photie Man at the Walker Art Gallery which I guess was the inspiration for this which I took on my phone whilst going through Lime St Station. Waiting For A Platform
  17. Quite pleased with my 36 points from 3 players so far but definitely need Salah to haul as I switched to him as captain from Ollie last minute
  18. There isn’t a barge pole in the land that I'd touch her with
