  1. That’s just your inner Stourbridge Grebo coming out
  2. Just finished the shelf reorganisation. 3 Kallax 4x2 units completely rearranged. My back is broken Anyway because of the possibility of damage I'm on a CD Les Big Byrd - Eternal Light Brigade Who the Eff are ABBA.
  3. I'm having a day off and reorganising the vinyl collection, so I'm currently into the 12" single selection so we're having one of Madchester's lesser lights, the New Fads Never really made it but they should have.
  4. One of the most under rated albums of last year I Play My Bass Loud - Gina Birch
  5. That'll be Salah off at the end of the season too I reckon. Nailed on now
  6. Thats all true but it’s only part of it. It’s also part of the internal civil war, all the former Brexit uber right wing infighting factions of the Tory Party are demanding this action and that is also forcing Sunak to keep it front and centre. The Throbbers don’t really care about the people in the boats, for them it’s all about forcing the UK to do something that will be challenged by “foreign woke judicial systems” so they can have the confrontation and attempt to further distance the UK from International Law. Allied to that, the bit you’re talking about is the only place the party can regain any votes from at this stage. The Remain / Tory switchers which I reckon is about 6% of the population. That’s the small percentage of the country that this is aimed at. It’s also why I see the Tory Party lurching further rightward after their inevitable destruction at the ballot box, whenever that is. They have no real off ramp to becoming less throbby any more. They’ve alienated the vast majority of people of working age. In five years that demographic will be worse and they'll be stuck in a battle both internally and externally over the throbber vote, which in itself is likely to be diminishing due to natural demographics
  7. You say you're against offshoring asylum matters and it’s morally wrong. The only moral issue I can see here is that is morally wrong for us to allow (by our inaction) people to cross the channel dangerously in the hands of people smuggling gangs who prey on these vulnerable people, the vast majority of whom are fleeing persecution. We're an island, there are only two options for the channel crossing situation. Process in France or risk them dying in the channel. If anything NOT offshoring given the circumstances is the morally wrong option, it leads to more needless death. I also don't see how the UK processing in France is removing yourself from the matter, it’s still us processing the applications, just before another risking death stage in their horrendous journey.
  8. That reads like you’d just let every person in that wants to come here regardless? There's what moral issue exactly? I really don’t see how processing genuine asylum seekers in France before they cross the channel is the same thing as Rwanda at all I also don’t see the Tory party wanting to tackle the evil of the people smuggling gangs with European law enforcement in joint co-operative action I'm baffled as to why you think it's remotely the same and out of curiosity, what would your solution be?
  9. Iirc they did make some announcement about Russia not telling them about an air corridor because the plane was carrying POWs for exchange, which they have done every other time that has happened
  10. As far as I'm aware, that's in France, you know before the small boats stage Also Starmer mentioned that he wanted to tackle the gangs in joint operations with law enforcement across Europe Both things this government could easily do but show no signs of wanting to... because Europe It is a significantly different approach
  11. The immigration thing is their best chance of individual survival constituency by constituency. It's not about reading the room and not going far enough on immigration. It's all about personal survival for most of them. They know they are buggered (if they don't oh well) BUT the immigration issue is where they can claw votes back if they can massively reduce the effect of Reform. The other issues, there's sod all they can do, they've already ideologically f***ed everything else. All about personal survival now
  12. Could be that rarest of things a PM that loses her seat at the next election. They would definitely have to shift her from her current seat, it's high on the danger list
  13. The Matt Hancock and Liz Truss ones are very Jonathan Pie... Just sayin'
  14. I think that Sevanta poll is a bit of an outlier in their results as the Tory share went up 2% and Labour down 1%. It's all margin of error stuff but the previous poll was 17% lead but Sevanta and DeltaPoll are at the high end with YouGov and RedfieldWilton at the lower end. I tend to look at the regular middle ground pollsters for indications rather than the ends. YouGov and RW could be right I guess but the problem with all of them is the question How would you vote if the election was today? or what ever the question they use is... no one has really considered how they'll vote especially with regards to tactical voting, that won't come out until much later.
  15. I'm a bit further in and they get worse. They also seem to make stupider decisions episode by episode, all their voting seems to be about liking or not liking the person
  16. I'm getting rather suspicious of YouGov polling. It really seems to be more lead by the Daily Mail's agenda (for whom they poll) rather than reality Just for a giggle I put those figures into the Electoral Calculus website and it gives Labour 529 MPs and the Tories just 42 with an overall majority of 408 (LibDems on 30) I just get the impression its slightly over representing Labour and Reform by a few percent and under representing LibDems and Tory by a few percent and those small percentages can make huge differences I'll probably die of a laughing fit if they did only get 42 MPs but if that did happen, I think the LibDems will be much higher than 30, in fact I think all the polls suffer from under representation of the LibDem vote regardless because people aren't currently answering with their tactical vote in mind and that in itself will push their vote up on the day, similarly I think the Green vote will drop for similar reasons
  17. For the record, I found it hilarious
  18. There is a fair amount of ranting. The show is sort of structured with Tory hating at the start and then he moves over to personal hypocrisy, whether it be his or anyone else's so it kinda gets less ranty but still ranty. I enjoy it, it's preaching to the converted I guess, especially here where he premiered the show but I really enjoy the rants and he does make some good points outside of the ranting. I also like the fact he's more Anyone but Tory rather than Vote Labour as he does have a small go at both the LibDems and Labour
