It wasn’t Magnkarl who claimed this, he's referencing a previous claim by someone else up thread iirc. I think (and could well be wrong) that it may reference that 40% of the Shadow Cabinet may belong to the group Labour Friends of Israel. If so it’s not a particularly accurate figure as the numbers were about 25% of Labour MPs rising to 33% of the Shadow Cabinet (around 2020).
My big boom box memory was taking it on holiday to Greece. Got the airline to pay for it because they damaged it, claimed on my holiday insurance telling them someone stole it and sold it to a Greek fella for his beach bar, I think all of them individually paid me more for it than I bought it for myself. It genuinely paid for the holiday and more back then
It’s also why albums are infinitely better than singles but I do wish Representatives for Wellingborough would stop referring to what used to be referred to as either an album track or a non-single album track as “deep cuts”… it just says oh look at me, I listened to a whole album, give me a medal or something
There are lots of well known songs that have never even been singles…
Bowie - Oh You Prtty Things
The B**tles - Here Comes the Sun (and LOTS of others)
Led Zep - Strairway to Heaven
Rolling Stones (and possibly their best song) - Gimme Shelter
Pixies - Where is my mind
The Smiths - (and plenty will tell you this is their best song) - There is a Light That Never Goes Out.
the Doors - L A Woman
Bowie (again) - Ziggy Stardust
Fleetwood Mac - The Chain
Stevie Wonder - Isn’t She Lovely
Carole King - You’ve got a Friend
Lots more besides, and that’s without me going all obscurity. Singles were primarily a loss leader for albums, some artists (Led Zep notoriously) never really cared for them. It used to be a thing that you’d leave some brilliant tracks on albums to encourage people to buy them
Going back to the onset of spring, I had a look at my herbs and most seem to have survived the winter well. My chives have already started to poke though, my blueberries have got little buds on the branches and I only really need to replace my tarragon and basil (neither of which I expected to survive.)
Not sure you can actually state that as fact. His two offences were sexual assault and exposure, sexual assault doesn't need to be necessarily violent. In fact the sentence received is very much at the low end of the scale for the offence according to the sentencing guidelines (most likely category 3 with culpability B - the lowest point of the scale)
Yeah the Bunnymen song The Killing Moon is used in the soundtrack, in completely different places and scenes depending on if you are watching the theatrical release or the directors cut
Which version of the playing to the racist crowd Home Secretary allowed this person to remain in the country?
You'd almost thing they were so busy talking shite about small boats to have missed this complete slam dunk for them.
