  1. I went into the city centre yesterday to meet the missus after her hair appointment and do a bit of food shopping etc. In Liverpool One (the shopping centre) there was this huge snaking queue of mainly females that triple backed on itself and then went further again out of that section of the shopping centre into another part. I was curious but just took an alternative route to where I was heading that involved going up to come down the other side. Met the missus in the record shop and the queue was the first thing we all talked about. None of us had a clue what it was about, so on the way back we investigated further. Some online only brand called Sisters and Seekers had opened a one day only pop up shop Never heard of it but hey ho, I kinda expect that. People were queuing for 7 hours plus and had come from miles away (some definitely from Brum - interviewed in the local rag) to buy what I can only describe as grey jogging bottoms and hoodies I really do wonder what goes through these peoples heads. You could have bought this shit online and got it delivered to your house. You’ve queued for the time it takes to work an entire shift to save 10% on some bland leisure wear Baaaa Baaaaa!
  2. He’s not even testing it at this point, he's just throwing other peoples money down the drain.
  3. I only come here in moderation
  4. We've got Pulp on again. “I want my record on” This is going to become a thing. She already needs more records for my sanity. On the upside, Xmas and Birthdays just got easier
  5. This topic appears to have no clear definition of what it is and why it shouldn’t be part of the all purpose religion topic.
  6. You seem to think people don’t understand, it’s more that they don’t care
  7. Anyway, on to one of mine…I took a punt on this Astrel K - The Foreign Department. Ex-Frontman of Ulrika Spacek, his second solo album. It’s a bit of melancholy pop, shades of lots of things but I'm getting High Llamas and Mercury Rev. It’s a breakup album but the sort that you’d listen to in a nice relaxing warm bath with subdued lighting It'll probably go completely under the radar but it’s actually very good. Much better than Ulrika Spacek, who I kinda like but this is a couple of levels up from that, much more polished with string arrangements at the like. Very well (self) produced
  8. Not got that yet, might pick it up at the gig
  9. And on we move. More BC Camplight. It’s not like I’ve not got new albums to play
  10. It has now been decreed that we must listen to BC Camplight so she can recognise the songs at the gig this week. BC Camplight - Shortly After Takeoff
  11. The world has turned inside out. I’m listening to this because… the missus bought it herself, she bought an album, the missus actually shelled out money for a record. She’s also coming to all the gigs I currently have tickets for. At least she bought a great album but if she thinks for one minute Qu**n are getting brought into the house she can do one.
  12. Richard Norris, Dub…. Yep sold! Oracle Sounds Volume 2 Plain brown card sleeve. Not much point posting a picture, it would be very dull 6 Dub tracks. Sort of leading up to the release of his new book and a book signing he’s doing towards the end of the month in a brewery in town followed by the return for one night only of the old Thursday Psyche night he used to do at The Bierkeller. the Hangout, where he won’t play this stuff at all
  13. Lucky tbh could have been much worse Wordle 994 5/6*
  14. Also why isn’t Patrick Milford looking close to death, I mean he was a professor and head of the economics department at Liverpool when I was an undergraduate.
  15. Least funny joke in the world. Not one of his crackpot ideas has ever been a success. From the Poll Tax to leaving the EU his economic theories have always been bollocks and a certain party keep going back to him and using his ideas. Unlike most crackpot economists, his ideas have been put into practice multiple times and failed miserably
  16. There’s a woman backstage that sings the bits he can’t, his volume is turned down half the time. It’s very sad Might actually be a death pool candidate soon
  17. It also appears to be an official holiday in Berlin but not the rest of Germany
  18. I think it’s what some Americans would call goddam communism
  19. Presumably referring to the ancient kingdom of Israel (and possibly the ancient kingdom of Judah) vs the modern Israel. Hence the re-inception of Israel
  20. Its these days I feel really sorry for National Freelancers Day International Grant Professionals Day National Middle Name Pride Day National Peanut Cluster Day National Proofreading Day Be Nasty Day
  21. Last hour of the last working day of the week in the only 5 day week I've done since Xmas, after a night where I got awoken at 01:30 by a fire alarm in our flats going off for no good reason
  22. International Women's Day moan Lauren Laverne on t'radio this morning asking people to get in touch with the show and tell the listeners about their inspiring International Women. Grrrr, just sounded stupid, its ANY women. If a man had said it, you'd have thought they were being sarcastic
