  1. To be fair So'ton have had a hellish first few fixtures - Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal, plus Wigan who got a great win at St.Mary's - I'm not sure how many more points we would have from those fixtures. They will be a wounded animal and will feel they can get their first points on the board against us. We need to silence their fans early on and make the Saints nervous. Hope we continue where we left off against Swansea with positive, attacking football. I can see PL starting with the same XI that started last week. This will be a v.tough game and we will have to keep Lambert quiet. One things for sure, our 3,000+ away fans will be in fine voice as the belief and passion is finally back with our club.
  2. So am I right in assuming that its looking like Islington for the WBA game, but 3Kings for future 3pm games?? Sounds like we're forming a decent Lambert's London Lions group!
  3. He showed shades if Kyle Walker with his game yesterday. Liked what I saw alot.
  4. To beat Swansea today is a massive result. They have been flying and could have gone top today. It was a close game, they gave us plenty to worry about but Vlaar and his defence along with Guzan did a fine job for us! We played as a team today and carried on some fine work from last week at Newcastle. The way we kept pressing on for the second is a pure sign of how PL sends us out - to win. It was refreshing to have options on the bench today and with Dunne and Marc still to return this should only make us stronger. Great to see Benteke score on his debut - lovely neat lob over the keeper. He strikes me as a sort who may miss a sitter (bit like he did from Bent's headed cross) but also have some class (i.e. the goal) But you don't get into the Belgian squad unless you've got some raw talent which he has. He's our Balotelli. Excited to see more of him. Today I feel like I have my AVFC back. Positive and proud.
  5. Im keen to be a part of this lads.Whenever i've watched Villa in a pub in London i've never been alone - there's always other villains - so be good to meet up with a few, sink some beers and get behind the boys
  6. If you go back a page you will fine my suggestion of The Famous Three Kings in West Kensington which shows all Prem games.
  7. I believe there was mate, some woman from a pub took it to court I believe. From what I have noticed since, certain pubs still show the games (i.e. the one I mentioned above has about 6 perm games on this saturday at 3pm) although some may be via streams rather than direct foreign channels. It definitely took a lull from spring last year but hopefully pubs will still show them!
  8. Famous three kings in West Kensington is good for showing 3pm Prem games and I watched Villa a lot in there last season. The are showing the game this Saturday. Good to hear there's a few pubs dotted around London that show the Villa! I will be sure to cheek them out! Be good to go watch Villa in a pub with some fellow Vtalkers!
  9. I thought this was a thread about new merchandise at the Villa Village...
  10. Don't be daft... ...blues don't play at home the same days we do.
  11. Had to rely on Mat Kendrick's updates via Twitter - but sounded like we were in control from start to finish - which is nice to hear/read. From what I gather Ireland was as influential as anyone else - and we had goals disallowed, hit the bar etc and banged in 3 goals. Ireland appeared to link up well numerous times with Bent which is key. I don't know why Ireland didn't start on Saturday but he must start against Newcastle - he's the only one who has the brain to provide for Bent. Sure it was against lower opposition tonight but this game was key for building confidence, which I'm hoping it does especially for players like Bent. A clean sheet is a positive too. Lets hope we bring some new blood in the next couple of days and and can get some spirit and belief back into our squad.
  12. As it stands there is no point selecting Darren Bent. Until we get someone who is willing to cross the frigging ball for him then we cannot make use of our most expensive ever signing.
  13. For me it was the day MON left. I was devastated. Runners up: Dean Saunders joining Galatasary closely followed by Yorke to Man Utd.
  14. As someone mentions above, the difference this year is we have a manager who will know our failings in the previous game and will try to change that for the next game. Everton played terrific against Man Utd and will give us a test this Saturday. but we're at home, our crowd will be behind the team and Lambert and this could make a difference. Everton looked very strong at the back against Man Utd and we'd do well to penetrate their defence especially considering that we couldn't muster up anything against West Ham - but the Premier League is very unpredictable. Can see a draw at best for us, but (as ever) will be cheering us on for the win.
  15. He frustrated me more than any other Villa player yesterday
  16. Rococco's on broad street are showing it
  17. Ive been told that they have moved the sports bar from The Cross to The Britannia Sports bar in Woolaston and they are showing the Villa game (plus others). Have just phoned and they confirmed this. The Britannia
