  1. The table never lies. (And right now it says we are 'safe' and I'd bite your hand off for that at the end of the season right now.)
  2. Having seen on Norwich fans sites that the Norwich fans are mostly rubbing their hands together at coming to VP on Saturday to give Lambert some abuse - I am hoping that our home support on Saturday will be as good as our away support at Fulham. Anyone at Fulham will tell you how loud we were singing "Paul Lambert's Claret and Blue Army" non stop throughout large periods of the first and second half - it was fantastic to be a part of support that was so firmly behind our manager (it's been a while!) so i'd love to hear all the Villa fans make a deafening show of support for our manager to hopefully inspire our boys to a victory. We are due a win and there'd be no better time than on Saturday against his former club with the sheer bitterness that has come from their end. Norwich fans will undoubtedly be on Lambert's back throughout the game so we need to stand up and show that, despite our poor start, we are 100% behind this man to lead us back to the good times!
  3. ****. This man represents everything that is wrong about referees in The Premier League today. He is a cocky, arrogant referee who tries his best to make the headlines in every game he plays. He struts around like he owns the place, cannot stand him. He is the worst ref in the league. There is certain to be a sending off or penalty Saturday with this dick in charge.
  4. To be honest, i'm happy people think we'll be a walk over - because we will surprise teams this year. Its better to be written off in my opinion as the expectation/pressure is lower - but from what I have seen from us this year we're doing a lot of things right -we're just waiting for it to click - much like Wigan last year. We definitely need some more players, especially in the middle but we have the right manager. Would love us to shock Fulham and get the win -as tough as it'll be, at least I know we've got a manager who will be sending us out there to win.
  5. Providing he is not tired from the two International games, he should start with Bent for me. His confidence will be sky high.
  6. To be fair there wasn't a lot in the game until WBA had Odemwingie sent off in the first half...and any team would struggle at Fulham with ten men. But I agree this will be as tough as we've faced away this year.
  7. Thanks. Cant seem to get any information on the injury so havn't had a clue of its extent. He is a big miss, keeps the ball well and can throw himself into a tackle well enough.
  8. Any ideas on the extent of his injury guys???
  9. Is there any chance of getting additional allocation for this?
  10. Here's a couple I took of an old man in Bruges last month...
  11. Have just come on here to find out more - anyone got any idea how serious this is?? Gutted. He's been a consistent performer for us all season. Not sure what PL will do if we lose him for a while.
  12. Rumour has it, this guy is the co-founder of Wizz air... #bants

I am hoping that come January transfer window PL will be looking to bring in players of the calibre of Dempsey who we tried to get in August. He is the sort of player we need (as well as a Diame-type player) to bolster our midfield. Am clinging on to the fact that we will hopefully have a better 2nd half to the season than first - and much like Wigan we can scrape by and get some rhythm going with our results.
  14. For people sat in P1 I wouldn't worry about it being furthest away from the away end - as I'm sure with it being a Saturday 3pm kick off there'll be so many Villa fans in all of the blocks of the neutral end. We usually travel away very well and fulham is such a popular away ground! Im clean on the piss after the game celebrating my birthday and if we win...you're all invited to join in the pissup!
  15. OK. Thanks for that. I'd reckon he's a bit of a miss for you, as I'd rate him as one of your better CMs. On his day he is, very inconsistent though. Ireland is our most intelligent footballer - he will be a big miss for sure. Can see PL going with same set up as last week against WBA (but with Bent up top instead of Tekkers) and making the same subs
  16. I was there and to date it was possibly the most lifeless i've ever seen my team play. The reason im going on Sunday is to put that memory behind me - PL will send us out to win - as unlikely as this may be, I need to erase last yr's memory. I just do. Would love to avoid defeat but they'll be very confident.

At last its entertaining to watch Villa - this derby today was one of the better games of football that I can remember - end to end, both teams playing good football. Derbies are awlays tough but we're slowly making progress - we have the right manager and are playing the right way -i.e passing game, keep ball and attacking football. Its refreshing to have PL as our manager - and althouhg the table doesnt look great at the moment, we have beaten Man City away in the cup and drew in a derby. We could have won today - their keeper produced a couple of top drawer saves. We have a manager who tries to win each and every game we partake in - that is simply refreshing from the utter shite we have had to put up with for the last couple of years. PL is still trying to find his team and is gradually getting our players to play great football. Given time I am confident he will get there. There'll be ups and downs (much like this week) but in a season of transition im confident we're heading in the right way.
  18. Of course he has, he's barely just got to our club, has got no experience of premier League football and he's starting for us against some top players. At last we have full backs who play football and dont hoof it, get up and down the field - Bennett is young, so too Lowton, but they are a breath of fresh air for us and will become excellent players in the future.
  19. Sounds like they relished the opportunity...
  20. My first post/prediction was me thinking with my heart and not head. Was looking forward to a cup run until I saw we drew City away...awful fixture for us and the site of it depresses me - not because of their recent wealth - its always been this way - we just can not win at their ground. They wont be bothered but will step up in gear when necessary and I can see a 3-1 loss. WBA is the priority. Although imagine the confidence a win would give us. (I said this against Swansea) But cant see it.
