On the way home from the game. Did well enough first half but always felt from the start we needed 2 goals to win this. Didn't turn up atall second half and could barely venture out if our half. They wre there for the taking. Tekkers was sublime first half but due to our negative play in second half was ineffective. Sustained plenty of pressure second half and did well to come through that.
As someone else said for us to not play great in the last two games and get 4 points isn't too bad atall. Don't fancy us against Stoke atall though unfortunately
When I was in there last year I saw Nigel Kennedy and said "Hello Nige..." to which he presented his clenched fist towards me for some kind of clenched fist 'touch' and said "Ready to rumble kid".
Absolute loon. But gotta love him.
He is the sort of signing we have missed for years. An absolute 'find' and great that we have him. I had never heard of him until we signed him and when I was told he was Crewe's captain at such a young age I was excited. Him and Gary Gardner could really be the future of our midfield for years to come. I've liked what i've seen so far -he has a similar composure on the ball to Gareth Barry and if he can be half as good as Barry was for us then we've got a fantastic player on our hands here.
Im hoping PL tries to lure more players of the calibre of Clint Dempsey who he tried to get in the Summer transfer window - he is experienced and not a youngster so im sure our manager knows what's missing from our team.
Cannot see us wininng this - am hoping the crowd will be up for it and see us grind out a draw. Ive just got zero confidence in us not conceding a hat full of goals.
Need to go at them from the off and rock them
Not sure about any of you, but I only get nervous at game sphere I think we can/should be getting results from. Against Man Utd I'm always calm as I just expect the loss and am fully used to it. The nerves would only come if we were 1-0 up or at 1-1 in injury time...but even then id fully expect Utd to score.
Now if we were playing QPR tomorrow, id be thinking/dreading/worrying about it up until the find whistle.
You don't get to being captain of a club like Crewe (with their great academy setup) at the start of your 20's unless you've got something decent about you. Im excited to see more of him. A bright prospect for us hopefully - be good to get Gary Gardner back to full fitness as the potential future Villa midfield.
After seeing Celtic's drive, endeavour and overall heroics to claim victory last night against (probably) the best team in the world, it gives me the belief that we can probably manage just a 0-2 defeat.
I went last year mate and had a restricted ticket - its not bad at all - think its because the away end is virtually on top of the pitch and is so close that you have to stand to see behind the goal - but everyone is always standing anyway. There's no pillars in the way or anything but the clubs have to put 'restricted' to ensure that they've covered for 5 year old kids too. Its perfectly fine from what I remember mate
