  1. I can read mate, and I can read between the lines too. For you to feel the need to state how you're making on our losses is clear you're happy in doing so. Otherwise, I'm not sure why you'd feel the need to mention it. We've all had a shit few weeks from our mates taking the piss, and making any money on us losing wont stop that happening, and if that makes you feel better getting a few quid from that then that's your choice. But in my opinion, for someone who claims to 'BleedClaretAndBlue' I'm surprised that that's the case. But I'm not into having a slanging match about it, just my view.
  2. I just don't believe in betting against the Villa. No doubt you've already laid down a wager on us going down. Just find it ironic given your Vtalk name is 'BleedClaretAndBlue' that you're happy making money out of our misery
  3. Hope you enjoy your winnings "again". 'BleedClaretAndBlue' my arse!!!!
  4. **** my life, we are depleted and all the media raving about how well Wigan have played lately. We really need to try and pull a result out of our arse. I think we're really going to miss Weinmann as he takes some focus off Tekkers. Teams are wising up to Benteke and its making it much harder to feed him and create chances - and with our many injuries ahead of tomorrow chances will be at a premium.
  5. Same team as against Spurs would mean a hug struggle for us I believe. Wigan are a decent footballing team. We need Vlaar, Gabby and Nzog back (in squad) for this. Regardless its a must win. Any way possible we just must win this.
  6. Agree with this. This has the feeling of Norwich at home. Am at a wedding so can't make this, will have to rely on updates. Dreading it to be honest due to its importance
  7. Agree CI. Lichaj is atrocious at defending against any player who is above average. Bring in Bennett, he suits our ball playing style more. We desperately miss Vlaar. I fear for us here. Oh and still haven't forgiven that cheating chimp lookalike Bale for his outrageous dive at their place this year.
  8. I need something to get the Chelsea game out of my mind so thought I'd start this. Any initial thoughts on this one? I just hope the boys are so disgusted with the result on Sunday that they give everything for us on Boxing Day. For me, taking Chelsea's class aside, what was missing from us against Chelsea was our hunger to close them down. We gave them far too much space and as such, allowed them plenty of room. We simply cannot afford to do that against Spurs. Can't see us winning this but am hoping we can restore some (much needed) pride a get a draw
  9. Bit of a head's up that there's a decent pre-match feature by David Walsh (journo who outed Lance Armstrong as a drug cheat 8 years ago) in tomorrow's Sunday Times regarding Ashlley Westwood in particular but also our young players and their quality.
  10. This. It was one of my favourite Villa memories running onto the pitch from the North Stand to The Holte who were all singing "Villa, Villa, Villllaaaa"

    Relegation

To me, irrespective of the result against Chelsea thus weekend, the Liverpool result can not be seen as flash in the pan due to our excellent performances against Man Utd, Norwich and a great win up at Sunderland. Chelsea away last year was a flash in the pan as we managed to fluke a win with a manager who set us up to draw. We have shown under PL that we are a hungry, attacking team who, on our day can cause teams plenty of trouble
  12. Haha. 100% me too. After his goals at Norwich and Liverpool I just had to boost up his long range shooting quality... ...and add some cheeky long sleeves and ankle tape.
  13. First and foremost ensuring we stay in this league is paramount. Anything beyond that and I'd be utterly delighted. January is key for us as I expect the teams around us to invest in January. We need about 3 solid players of quality to help us with PL's rotation style.
  14. It's the draw that both us and Bradford wanted. Cannot take anything for granted but over the two legs we must ensure our class takes us through. The second leg at VP will be rocking, full house (or near enough I expect) to get behind the boys. It won't be easy (semi finals never are) but we've got a good chance to get to the promised land. A lot of our team have played in the lower leagues on loan or with Sheffield Utd or Crewe (Lowton and Westy) so there should be no prima Donna attitude for these games. It's just great to be in a semi and with a chance of making Wembley.
  15. He is the worst by far - headline grabbing prick. With him as ref there'll be penalties, sendings off and awful decisions made due to him not being able to keep up with play. His worst fear is not being talked about/noticed from a game.
  16. 100% agree. I actually like him a lot, sure he has to learn how to be a PL full back, but this only comes with more games. If we're likely to be playing with a wing back system then Bennett can be suited for this due to his capabilities going forward. Im pretty sure that Bennett was Boro's player of the year last season so give him time.
  17. This will naturally be tough - the class of Hazard, Oscar, Ramires etc may just be too much - and if Liverpool is anything to go by they will expect us to sit back and soak up pressure and try get them on the counter. We're not expected to get anything here so anything other than a loss would have to be seen as huge.
  18. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH ITS CHRISTIAN BENTEKE!!!!!!!! What a result! So proud of the boys!

    Match threads

Fair enough - looks like the mods just edit the titles then
  20. Would take a 2-2 draw now. Can see us conceding two goals with the quality of Suarez, but can we score two goals at Anfield? Im not sure.
  21. Anyone thinking we can get something at Anfield Saturday? The Norwich win will have give us a lift - but they have hit form of late and will have that diving b*stard Suarez back so is a difficult time to play them,.

    Match threads

I assumed that due to the repetitive title of the match thread (Match Thread. Please do not talk about streams etc...) this was controlled by mods? I've no problem with getting it going. Its just a bit strange that since the new site launched there's no match threads until late - didn't ever notice this before.

    Match threads

How come with the new site the match threads dont seem to appear until very late? Its 2 days before Liverpool away and it still doesnt exist? Immediately after games I want to get thinking/talking about our next game etc but have to wait until two days or so before. I'm not having a moan as the mods do a top job as it is, but wondered if this is a deliberate thing (and if so why?) and if anyone else feels the same?
  24. Good lad. Massive credit goes to the Norwich fan who had 19 Petrov on his shirt too - really touched me seeing that.
