  1. Zero spine in our team which equates to zero stability. I can see us scoring a couple of goals in the home leg...the trouble is I can see them also scoring. We are piss poor at defending and our confidence is going to be shot to shit after that and with Southampton next at home, our players are going to be incredibly nervous and the crowd on their back. A very bad night in a very bad season so far for us. For me, we've got to score three goals at VP to stand any chance of getting to the final
  2. Thought id get this started ahead of the game tonight - so we instantly can start thinking about Saturday's crucial game! We need to avenge the embarrassing 4-1 win from St. Mary's - and it is simply a must win game (much like Wigan was too, but the less said about the Wigan game the better). With Gabby, Bent, Nzogbia and hopefully Westwood returning to the side this could give us more strength for Saturday. (Hoping there's no new injuries after tonight) But it will no doubt be a very tough game. Need to keep Lambert, Rodriguez and Puncheon quiet as from what i've seen they seem to pull the strings for them. If Lallana is still out then id be pleased as he is a decent player. A win here would be massive for us.
  3. This. A million times this.
  4. Cant imagine he's been claiming much for a goal bonus then* *still love him

    Relegation

Great sentiment mate. Fully with you on this.
  6. We definitely need a win to build some confidence and momentum ahead of the semi final games and the next couple of league games.
  7. This. I can see him starting Bowery up top, either on his own or with Weinmann. Benteke is too important for us on Tuesday to risk him getting injured against Ipswich.
  8. Agree with this. Would like to see Carruthers brought in and Dereck Williams at LB. Am excited about Carruthers and i've only seen him nut meg Gerrard last season!
  9. to be fair he was the first Premier League player to score... ...with a yellow ball.
  10. Berbatov would be the ideal partner up front for Bent. A bit like when we say Ireland is key to unlocking Bent, except Berbatov has far more class and can score too. A potentially deadly partnership with Rodallega as backup.

Mods, any reason why it states that we start a new topic for the Ipswich game?
  12. Due to the constant anti-Villa abuse on Facebook that im seeing, they're fast becoming a club I despise...but aside from their fans I think they're decent to watch
  13. Jeez, im having to become token fans of so many teams this season whenever our relegation rivals are playing - but as you say, the more in the mix, the better. Ultimately, we need to beat Southampton.
  14. ****. Rafa tinkering as usual has cost them and us lot that win for QPR. They will undoubtedly pick up form now, plus a few more signings and they'll probably dance their way out of the relegation zone. They have Spurs at home next at QPR. What this season tells me is that the likes of Reading and QPR are picking up points and are not that far adrift from the rest of us - we really need to take control of our own destiny as relying on other teams results wont keep us up like last year!
  15. What.a.goal.by.Baines. Just added a few more million on top of his inevitable move to United.
  16. The longer this Chelsea - QPR game goes on the more worried ill get that 'Arry will pull the rabbit out of the hat.
  17. Yea usually to score against us whilst we get dicked by Citeh.
  18. Id give him a run out against Ipswich and rest The Tekkers for Bradford on Tuesday.
  19. Yeah but I loved seeing Benteke bully the f*ck out of them. He stood up to everything and they didn't like his aggression at all. Tekkers also showed a great calmness when their player (forgotten who it was) went nose to nose with him. Also we showed against Stoke how we can rough teams up when we need to. For me, when we close down the opposition and don't allow space and get 'in their faces' we tend to do better. The key is, hussling and closing them down fro the first minute.
  20. Absolutely fantastic news mate. Really chuffed for you. I recently celebrated 6 years since my diagnosis for A.L.L and I get goose bumps every time I witness the Petrov 19th minute applause.
  21. This sums it up perfectly for me. Watched the game and we could quite easily have been 4 goals down by HT. We were much the worst team overall but we dug in deep with a depleted squad in the second half and despite giving away a 94th minute goal we have to take this result as a positive. Tekkers took his penalty very calmly and was an absolute monster for us in the second half, great aggression that we needed. Really really wished we could have hung on but all things considered this could be a decent point for us. With Ipswich and bradford coming up, it'd be great to get some belief and confidence back with some wins, if possible, and move on to Southampton. Need to get our injured players back and losing Westy for a lengthy spell would be awful.
