  1. A really strange one that got me was Lost in Translation - wasn't tears as such but a firm lump in my throat that wouldn't shift and left me completely...moved. It was that scene at the end where Bill Murray gets out the cab and spots Scarlett Johansson in the busy Tokyo street and they embrace - its that moment that really struck me and especially when he whispers something inaudible to her. The fact we (deliberately) don't know what was said simply adds to the emotion and intrigue for me. I felt completely compelled and overwhelmed, probably as up until that point there was a deliberate detachment of emotion from the characters together. I didn't think much of the film at all up until that point and from there it brought everything together fantastically.
  2. Good news - he has played quite well against us previously. Ill be worried I'd Remy is back for them(?) - he is a talent. Expect he will be.
  3. I'd tend to agree although there are 3 weeks between this and our next game so they'll all get ample rest regardless (Belgium games notwithstanding of course). If Benteke got injured against Rotherham id be so angry its untrue. But that aside, I think its an opportunity to try out Helenius in that role - and use Tonev and Bcuna perhaps as a front three. Id also play Okore as he will still be slightly short on match fitness. A comfortable win at home (and dare I say a clean sheet) would hopefully give us a bit of confidence ahead of the International break - in preparation for Newcastle. Although we know we cant take any of that for granted.
  4. Must agree with this - especially fir the first half. We seem inept and clueless when asked to dictate play (i.e, at home) and Liverpool came, shut off our midfield and nulified any attempt at an attack. We got better after the break without ever looking like scoring (Benteke chance aside). The reason I feel we got better at home from February last season was the games we were playing were very open as both teams were simply desperate for points - and we could counter attack. Today Liverpool got their goal, dominated the first half and simply sat back second half to try soak up our pressure and get us on the attack. On the plus side we look more solid defensively - and Okore is more of a starter than Vlaar for me. 3 points from first three games is more than I expected - but felt we didn't perform to our capabilities today. We go again.
  5. Need to keep Courtinho and Sturridge quiet to get anything, in my opinion.
  6. I'm trying to feel better by telling myself that I'd've been ecstatic (a few weeks ago) if we drew at both Arsenal and Chelsea and getting two points on the board. Yet we've got more points than that would equate to so must try and take that as an overall positive.
  7. Try Three Kings in West Kensington - although if its on it'll be full of Chelsea. Mind you, Saturday was full of Arsenal and it didn't stop me, my mate and a couple of random Villans going nuts
  8. This kind of mentality is what really is ruining the game industry, there will be more of this crap as people keep buying it. Literally everything now has side content that you can pay for so they can squeeze that extra money out of you. Worst thing is that several developers plan DLC months ahead of a games release. I mean that goes against the very foundation of what dlc is supposed to be, additional content after you are done with the game. Rockstar did it right with gta 4, it came months after the game and it was a worthy addition with hours of gameplay value in a new story, characters and so on. And no, that was not directed at you specifically but I am starting to see this stuff everywhere now, and it really is getting out of hand. Exclusive this and that, it is cancer. Fair enough. Perhaps £10 is too steep - but I akin this (made up) situation to something like paying for premier league badges/names to be added to a home shirt you've already bought. It's an optional thing that many buy into and some choose not to get involved with. I just want Villa Park on Fifa. I buy Fifa each year and am an absolute stickler for realism. The kits, crowd chants, players realistic movement etc plus live the stadium to be there too. It's about time we saw it but then I bet teams like Everton will be saying the same.
  9. Guarantee the ref wouldn't've been dropped if Arsenal had won (even with the pens and sending off)
  10. They could really benefit from having a function to be able to buy/download the home stadium of your(Premier League) choice. I realise this would be time sensitive for the gaming designers but they would more than make the money back if each game was sold with an optional extra £5-10 to get your team's stadium acquired. I'd pay the extra as its been something I've always wanted on Fifa. I remember once there was a game called 'The FA Premier League' in around 2000 and Villa Park was on that - but it was a one-off.
  11. This is exactly how I see it. Looked like Carra was trying too hard to impress. I personally think MNF is best kept with a presenter and one pundit. Although its a gazillion times better than motd and BTsport, it's a shame that Nevile's air time is ultimately cut.
  12. Man City away? That's the one that I genuinely despise as we never get a kick (in the league). It rains, we get smashed and its depressing.
  13. If we gift Chelsea a lead in the 5th minute like we did on Saturday then I will truly fear for us. I'm pleased the whole nation won't be watching this on Sky. Hoping we give them a good go and get stuck into them. It's almost a certainty that Lampard and Torres will score. Hope we remember how well we played against these in May. 14. I will be hoping to high heaven that Tekkers doesn't pick up a knock against the French. Im nervous thinking about it...
  15. Hi guys, a friend and colleague of mine at work produces some top class graphical design artworks and is in the process of creating various infographics for famous football (Premier League at the mo I think) teams - he wants to create one for our mighty Aston Villa and asked me (as one of only a couple of Villa fans in the building) for ideas on the best themes. For each team he produces two infographics: 1 - Player graphic - the most iconic player for the club (not necessarily the greatest ever player but one that you instantly think of when you think of the club) 2 - Iconic game graphic - the game that is synonymous with the club I gave my thoughts and said that the game would undoubtedly be 1982 at Rotterdam - and various info graphics could be the attendance, minute Withe scored, use of 14 players throughout tournament etc... ...but with the iconic player I said im 100% confident Paul McGrath will be the most popular. But he wasnt so sure (as a non Villa fan it was interesting - he also couldn't think of a more obvious one) Therefore i'm putting it to you guys to see what other (if any) suggestions you may have for these game and player graphics?
  16. What.a.game! and What.an.atmosphere!
  17. What's worse... 1. Changing the team name (Hull) or 2. Changing the team colours (Cardiff) ?
  18. Surely he'll start Okore as he is our defender who is lacking match fitness the most?
  19. Must agree. He's our very own Partridge, but he loves the club to bits. I find him hilarious and his geeky exterior only makes me like him more. But AVTV is very poor as a service.
  20. We need a hiro Seems like we're holding out for a hiro ‘til the end of the night He’s gotta be strong And he’s gotta be fast And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight
  21. Where does the "fight and do cocaine" reference come from in the first place?
