  1. Dreading it. Lukaku has the potential to tear us a new one
  2. Someone made a decent point earlier that we're actually not playing as well this season as we did (from February) last season. That is worrying - Westwood isn't performing and could've been red carded in almost every game he's played. I want to see more of Sylla and would probably keep KEA as his performances have eclipsed Westy's. Fact is our midfield is still very weak and we have limited resource when it comes to players in the middle of the park who can link with the attackers.
  3. Alex? Hutton on the wing too, yeah?
  4. Will Townsend be playing in the position he did for England? ie, on the right and cutting in? If so then it'll be Luna's task of looking after him. That said, Spurs have plenty of class elsewhere so everyone who plays will have to be at their best. Bring back Tekkers please Mr. Lambert
  5. I don't agree that he is biased towards us...he's massively passionate but he also knows our flaws and our failings and doesn't try to hide them, from what I can tell.
  6. I think a 3-5-2 may be best for us - as we need to try and stop Dembele and whoever they choose out of Erikson, Paulinho, Townsend, Sigurdsson etc dictating play. I would therefore bring back Sylla into the middle for his steel and energy. Cant see him dropping Bacuna who has looked decent enough going forward and as a wing-back in a 5 man midfield he'd get more licence to. Id therefore bring back Tekkers (if fit) for Kozak. Would ideally want a replacement for Andi as he hasnt looked good at all this season, but there's no suitable options really so I guess he'll start and at least with Weimann he will chase down players and can finish when given the chance.
  7. Fresh from a [excuse the pun] hammering at home today, are we to expect Spurs to take revenge on us? Or do we expect us to be more up to the task then we were in the cup recently? (Granted we had a threadbare squad). Benteke being back hopefully would help us, but in truth I wish we were playing them away. Although with the quality Spurs have we will no doubt have little of the ball anyway which may suit us more. One thing is for sure, we need to play better than we have in our last two games. Hope Lambert uses Benteke if he's fit - as Kodak hasn't looked up to scratch for me. Be good to have a near-fit Gabby back too. Not necessarily expecting a win to be honest as despite today's result, Spurs have looked excellent at times this season, but hope we give a good account of ourselves and dig out something.
  8. The good thing is we know we can play much better than that away from home. Bruce did a decent enough job getting Hull to nullify our threat, purely by allowing us the ball. It was like a home game with the amount of possession we had and as someone mentioned above we simply do not know what to do with it. On the plus side we didnt look too threatened at the back. Kozak was poor and couldn't win a header all game. Davies had him in his pocket. Delph as the best player for us, guts, determination and positivity throughout. Weimann was, and has been all season, very very poor. Clean sheet and a point away against probably the better of the promoted teams isnt too bad, especially after last week's crazy win. Needed a win ideally as im not sure how much joy we'll get out of Spurs or Everton.
  9. Anyone know where I can get the past two hours back?
  10. Westwood's distribution has been very poor by his standards. He also keeps losing his rag and now he's on a yellow he runs the risk of getting sent off. We could do with bringing Sylla on - or Lambert needs to give him a bollocking at HT. Weimann hasn't once impressed me this season, he has looked sluggish since Arsenal away and has lost his acceleration which we made full use of with the counter attacks last season. Aluko is a handful up top for them and they've got behind us a few times which we need to prevent - Kozak hasn't won a header yet against Davies. Need better second half.
  11. Was anyone following our game on SkySports News at all? If so I'd love to know how it went when we clawed back from 1-2 down to win it! Any links to it?
  12. Completely agree FWIW. Both in terms of the manner he left West Ham and that he'd be lucky to go straight back into the Premier League at this stage. I do think it's remarkable that no-one at any level has seen fit to give him a chance to date. Although perhaps he himself said no to offers lower down and still has a certain expectation on job offers that come in for him. Cant be good being out the game for so long though? All the punditry in the world cant compare to the day-to-day life of a manager/coach, i'm guessing.
  13. The only way we'll know if United are struggling this year is if we take points off them at VP. If we beat them at home then im sure Moyes would resign just out of humiliation for breaking their record.
  14. The thing is the Arsenal game wasn't a fluke by any means - it was an excellent away performance. People seem to think we fluked it (i'm not suggesting you are by the way Nigel) which is frustrating.
  15. That was so noticable Saturday wasnt it - the constant hoofing from Guzan (not blaming him) to Tekkers. When last season we would always play it out. Need to free up Westy in this game and bringing in Sylla would help with this.
  16. No arguements from me, Hughtons been awful of late imo, can't see us winning this, 2 nil to you sadly. There's more chance of seeing Delia strip naked and run onto the pitch then us keeping a clean sheet
  17. Simply cant afford to lose this - we need points on the board. Got to nullify the threat of Redmond, Hoolahan and Van Wolfswinkle - and hope we can catch them on the break (although they will be expecting this and will probably set up to try combat our one and only plan of attack). Id rest Weimann and give Tonev a try and also bring in Sylla for KEA to try boss the middle and free up Westy and Delph. Massive game and i'm alreday bricking it.
  18. Teams have seemingly wised up to the fact that our front three are potentially a threat, therefore teams ensure they stop our midfield providing for them - just what Newcastle did yesterday by suffocating our midfield. Weimann needs to be rested and Tonev given a run out. Weimann has looked knackered since the first game. Also be good to see Sylla brought in.
  19. Come on, climb down off the fence and tell us how you really feel...
  20. Therefore, I manually edit the settings to how I see each player's ability... ...and always boost up Gabby's pace even more
  21. Villa haven't had a home advantage for a few seasons Exactly this. I am much happier when we're playing away - as we struggle to dictate games and break teams down at VP.
