  1. Lowton- Vlaar- Okore- Bertrand ^^^decent.
  2. Well it was posted on a website today and did the rounds on Facebook so thought if share. Whether its today it 7 years ago it remains funny
  3. It honestly feels like it would be a miracle if we dont concede by ht. As it is, I feel we'll be 3-0 down at half time with Sturridge grabbing two and Suarez the other. We simply wont be able to keep track of Suarez's movement. Baker will get a head injury just watching him. We go again. ps, Benteke to grab a last minute consolation goal - and then more patronising comments about how this could kick us on from Sky's pundits
  4. Wigan got relegated and got credit. Yes we rallied in the second half, but only when Arsenal sat back and let us. It's good that Benteke got back to scoring ways but we need to show that desire in all games not just the ones that we are 0-2 down in. Lowton also showed once again how he's our most creative player. Great cross for Benteke. Benteke thrives on those sorts of crosses so we need more of that.
  5. Vlaar and Baker are made of butter. They are incapable of getting a knock without it ruling them out for a few weeks. Ridiculous.
  6. The majority of sides have already played this weekend and unless Stoke beat Liverpool later we'll still be 11th but with tomorrows game in hand. The sides below us are there for a reason, they're doing worse than us this season, so far. They're unlikely to all start winning games especially as some of them will be playing other sides below us. We're not playing well, we've players out of form and other important players injured but we are still mid table. There's a lot of work to be done and we can't sit back and relax but things could be a great deal worse. I think we'll finish around where we are now, which will be an improvement on the last couple of seasons. The big risk factor for us is that most of our points have come away from home and as the season goes on it could become harder to pick up points away from VP.If we started performing away more like we do at home, we would start to have a distinctly uncomfortable time. Unfortunately, it looks like our hopes once again reply on playing the teams around us who simply must come at us. Then we can use our only skill of hitting them on the break. This will be our tactic for home and away games. We will, once again, get turned over by the big team who simply outplay us. Difference is we need Benteke to start playing like he did last season. I saw glimpses of his old self at Sunderland but he was miles away from his best against Sheff Utd.
  7. Cant ever rely on Spurs and Carroll may come back to haunt Newcastle - but other than those the other games should take of themselves as we'd expect.
  8. 2-4. More class from Suarez. Liverpool look unreal on the attack. I am simply dreading playing them next week.
  9. 2-3 Liverpool - one of those penalty decisions that ref's often bottle
  10. So lets make it fun and predict who will be booked first; Delph or Catermole?
  11. Latest on Vlaar and Tekkers... http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~3597515,00.html
  12. Do you think Benteke was fully fit the last time he came back? This is true. But you'd have hoped they've learnt their lesson Hope so. But the fact that Benteke only returned to training today suggests to me that it's a bit touch and go whether he's fit enough to run around for an hour or so. If he only trained today i'd expect him to be rested on the bench then brought on around 60minutes. If fit, id like to see him up top with Gabby
  13. They're unbeaten in their last 4 and we're...well...we're shit. They were the better team at VP a few weeks ago and were very unlucky not to take all three points. This will be tough. Any news on Vlaar or Benteke? Also is Brown still suspended for them?
  14. Lambert's verdict.... http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~3591419,00.html (Sounds like this time last year)
  15. Poor referring decisions shouldn't cloud over what was (yet another!!!!) horrendous display. I'm royally fed up with us. We looked clueless, uninventive, lacking ideas and nowhere near Premier League standard. We are heading for another relegation scrap.
  16. Reading Lambert's comments on Vlaar, id say he'll miss Stoke: http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~3579905,00.html
  17. We do look horribly weak without Vlaar - our defence can header all day but when we play against forwards with movement we just completely melt. Both Baker and Clark need Vlaar next to them to bring the best out of them. Much like when we had Curtis Davies - he looked excellent at times when he was next to Laursen, yet very suspect when Laursen was out. I realise that we've currently got out 3rd and 4th choice CB's at the helm right now - and as much as they've both got better this year - they're not good enough as a pairing to compete against most forwards in the Prem.
  18. With the annual raping from Man Utd out the way, we've now got a difficult game away to Stoke. Good news is Delph and possibly Vlaar should hopefully return. Bad news is that Gabby is suspended for picking up his 5th yellow against United. Need to take points from this game - Stoke will come out at us i'm sure. I'd keep Lowton and Albrighton in the starting XI. Can see Lambert maybe dropping Benteke or he may opt for the two big dogs up top to compete with Stoke's giants. If so we must must must utilise Albrighton and Lowton for their crossing.
  19. This. Im struggling to be angry as this was utterly predictable. We had a good 10 minutes and then caved once they scored. Our players cannot compete with the likes of Valencia, Rooney and seemingly Welbeck which doesn't bode well at all.The only positives that I could see were Albrighton playing well and we showed at times glimpses of our passing game and trying to keep the ball as opposed to hoofing it. Stoke ganme is massive.
