  1. We're really are the perfect team to okay to get your season back in track. Utterly predictable. I don't think there's another team in the division who would lose the lat four games without a sniff of a goal. Even Burnley would score in one of those games. I cannot accept Lambert spouting the same "if you've given me 3pts before the start if these games the. I'd've taken it" bullshit. What sort of message is that to our team? Completely defeatest. Cannot see where our next point is coming from let alone win. Redknapp will squeeze past us with a win to get him back on track and Spurs always give us a battering. The very only slightest positive from today is that Benteke and Vlaar got some game time. Bit it's another fruitless performance from a team with no ability to create chances with a predictable outcome. We've lost any momentum we had a few months ago and our confidence has been wiped out with it.
  2. Not sure if this is the right place to ask but is there anywhere in B'ham city centre to watch the game?
  3. Baker + Clark = **** MY LIFE No matter how many defenders we purchase we always end up with these pair.
  4. We bought Okore for £4m. You can add Marlon Harewood to that list.
  5. Christ, I hate the International break. Seeing Hoddle, Townsend and Dixon talk so seriously about England v San Marino has driven me to depression - so wanted to kick off the thread for our next game against the Toffees. As always, this will be a tough game -despite their poor points return we all know they're better and stronger than us so I am expecting a very tough game. If we have Benteke and Vlaar back it could provide some stability for us. Would be great to come away with something here, Palace won and they're without Barkley and Stones (I think?) but for me we need to be watchful of Naismith and Mirralles. Am quietly confident that Baker and Senderos (if Vlaar doesn't make it) can put up a fight against Lukaku as, similar to Ballotellli he has power and Everton will pump it up to him...this is where Baker has shown this season he can compete. Its if Lukaku gets behind our back four when we may struggle. We have only scored 4 goals this season which is a massive worry and I hope there's not too much pressure placed upon Tekkers...but he's simply a cut above the rest of what we have attacking-wise and holds the key to our goals. As with all our games, I feel our best chance of winning is holding out tight and snatching the first goal - that would mean Everton have to come right at us giving us a bit of space for the likes of Cleverley and Delph to move forward. Tough one to call but hopefully a full strength team could give us a chance of getting a point.
  6. We go again. We lose again.
  7. Roy Keane can slam a revolving door.
  8. Only if they submitted an extension application to the Premier League before the deadline stating that a fee had been agreed etc...not sure this was ever the case with Everton.
  9. Westwood and Delph will be the first names on the teamsheet it is Richardson that should feel aggrieved got an assist the weekend and has played well doesn't deserve to be dropped on current form imo I don't really like this atm if it happens. If it does I want a good explanation. However, if they're not up for getting competition for their places in the team, they're not up for it. Then they can go to another club with less competition in the lower leagues. I hope they think that if he's arrive it's all well and good, but he won't take my place. Give him a run for it. Westwood's performances this season are worthy of a starting place - agree its Richardson who has been the weaker of the midfielders. But Lambert wants competition for places and that is healthy. Guaranteed starters can bring about complacency - therefore the players need to try their hardest to break into the team. Any update on this Cleverley talk?
  10. Agree. Until we brought Jack on we were under the kosh and looked fragile and lacked any composure. Sanchez seemed to disrupt our midfield and kept giving away needless fouls. But Grealish gave them something to think about which resulted in Hull getting 3 yellow cards in 5 minutes from 4 fouls on him...yet young Jack came away smiling about it. Lambert did the right thing bringing him on when he did. Great win, fantastic first half, really fluid play and created plenty of chances. Could barely get out of our half second half and Bent should've stuck it away. Bent is getting a bit of a ripping but he always fashions a chance for himself and if fully fit (which he clearly isn't right now) I fancy him to stick those away.
  11. Has this happened yet or not? Is this just bait for Everton to come and offer more?
  12. Any optimism from the opening two Prem games vanished after last night. If Hull get a good result tonight then they will be fired up for Sunday. We simply cannot break teams down who play tight against us, I think Hull will adopt this style and try to catch us on the break. Without any real creative quality in the middle of the park and strikers who don't strike (on target at least) this is set up to be a struggle. Need a win with our next 5 awful games on the horizon.
  13. Our strikers will still be trying to fashion a shot on target by then...
  14. Exactly what's in my thoughts. He may not be the most mobile but he has shown he can get on the end of a cross. So with Cissokho showing that he can get down the line and whip in some decent balls I hope we do more of this when Libor is back...and maybe get Hutton to do the same occasionally.
  15. I think our shape and squad last week was set up for an away performance. Therefore keeping it the same would ultimately give Newcastle more of the ball which I don't think Lambert will want at VP this year. Its a tricky one to change the squad after last week but I doubt Newcastle will be as poor as Stoke were. Lambert will ultimately pick a side to try and dictate play at home so I can see Cole coming in for Gabby potentially. Would be good to have Sanchez in for some steel I. The middle but a lot depends on his fitness. Not confident with this one, I barely ever am at home so if we avoid defeat then it wouldn't be a bad start to the season. Can't stand Pardew and we have a horrible record against him so for that alone I hope we pull it out the bag.
  16. What's this guy's qualities? What sort of a player is he?
  17. Oh Gawd...here we go again. Let the nerves, stress, worry and roller coaster ride that is our season begin. Anything but a loss to kick us off would be great. I just worry that Bojan will give us the runaround. And from what I've seen in pre season we seem to have lost our quick counter attacking ability and I'm not confident of creating many chances. Would be satisfied with a draw.
  18. Somebody please talk to me about Boyhood. It's the best film I've seen in years
  19. Out of interest, why didn't you watch them in the correct order Rodders? Just wondering. Before Sunrise is such a great film, so too Before Sunset, but the latter's success in my opinion is really confined to the fact that it's a second part of the story. Before sunrise has such good dialogue, (a lot of it improvised so I believe) and fantastic acting by Hawke and Delpy. It's so natural, flows seamlessly and really struck a chord with me. LinkLater is a tremendous and completely original director.
  20. Did you notice that you see the negative side no matter the result? How about if we win, good, can only help confidence, if we lose, good, it's no impact and hopefully we can sort out any weakness exposed. The only bad outcome is if we get an injury, like Gabby in Chicago. Last season I saw us get turned over at Luton 3-1 before going to Arsenal and winning on the opening day. You just cannot read into pre season, its about fitness and testing systems etc. The fact Lambert plays two different teams per half (until the last game or so) is a clear indication that its all experimental and for fitness.
  21. Did some digging on the FC Dallas Facebook page, it looks like they will be streaming the game (details released in the next couple days.) Not sure what that means for supporters outside the USA. Could you watch the MLS streams during the last US tour? I remember watching the stream on the actual site of one of the teams we played last time so I'd assume you can do it again for this. I remember that too, it was pretty good quality too, unlike Avtv... Pretty sure I heard Jack saying that the next live game will be Chesterfield on 30th and that there'd be highlights of the US fixtures.
  22. First game of pre-season or not, some of the football we've played in the second half has been better than all of last season.
  23. GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!! Was a great move actually.
  24. "That was as easy as shelling peas for Darren Bent" Captain Jack, 2014
