  1. Someone pointed out that as good as Saints have looked this season - and lets face it, they have looked excellent - they have struggled to beat (an in fact lost both of their games against) teams in the top 7. This suggests they can comfortably overcome mediocre teams...of which we are one, so it doesn't bode well. Hopefully we can continue to stop the rot and avoid defeat - pains me to say it but a draw would be a great result here. We simply do not create any chances and Saints will have a field day on our large pitch playing their fluid (true) football. Merson made a decent point on Soccer Saturday yesterday by suggesting that as we're a team who create so little great opportunities then why not use our best finisher in Darren Bent? I can see the sense in it, Gabby and Weimann do not do enough - Weimann especially when he's in any position other than up top. Bent could well represent our best chance of grabbing a goal if given a chance, and as it stands i'm all up for trying something new - because its just not working right now. Further to this, I was watching our subs taking shots against Given in the warm up before the game yesterday and Bent's finishing was second to none, Bacuna too actually. If we had Delph and Tekkers id fancy us to get something here, possibly a win as Saints are due a loss. But without them I can only see us fighting for our lives to get a point. our poor home form will continue no doubt.
  2. but that shouldn't be the basis for sacking or backing him....its just giving vent to your feelings ( which is understandable) well yeah, obviously. that was posted roughly a minute after the full time whistle. ^^ either way I find it harder and harder to support him considering how he seems to have such a hard time responding to changes in games. also I think that we are far too inclined to wait and see what the opposition does instead of tactically trying to control/change a game ourselves. To be fair, in today's game there wasn't anything on the bench that could've helped us today. And with them bringing on Carroll and Cole we needed Senderos and Clark so Lambert made the right decisions in my opinion.
  3. Yes but Clark and baker are? Completely stupid to say when you have players equally haven't cut the mustard and play time and time again Baker has been our most improved player this season so not sure why you think he hasn't been playing well. Clearly Lambert hasn't seen enough from Okore to warrant starting him...and his pre QPR presser confirmed that.
  4. I personally thought Guzan looked very shakey all afternoon (on crosses) until the final few minutes where he came to our rescue along with our defence. He kept coming for crosses and got nowhere near them and generally looked all over the place. Had a better second half but his distribution is very poor. Thought Lowton did well and Sanchez played much better second half and didn't seem to tire as he has previously. We still lacked any real threat and only had glimpses of a chance. On the day and this morning I felt there was a point there for us...and I'm pleased we clung on at the end. But goals will keep is up this year and teams like Sunderland, Palace, Leics and QPR have them in them. Without Benteke we don't pose a threat going forwards. We go again.
  5. I can only assume as its the day before the game they have halted online sales as they cant send out the tickets in time. Best bet is to give them a phone as i'm sure there's some left. You can then arrange a pick up from the stadium. This is only a guess though, but could explain it.
  6. Anyone hitting up (or can recommend) any pre-match boozers that the Villa fans will be in before the game. It'd be good to catch the Liverpool v Chelsea game in a pub if anyone knows of any?
  7. Our only hope of not losing in a game is if we score first. Our stats prove that this season.
  8. Delph is a) more important and harder to replace than Vlaar
  9. That's how I feel, I've just no idea how we can score. We're too predicable now as a counter attacking team - so every team stops us doing so. Gabby doesn't get behind players any more as he stays too central and can't do anything productive.I would keep the idea of getting crosses in from Lowton and hope that Cissokho can find his crossing boots again. It'll be tough but there's a point there for us if we apply ourselves. As someone pointed out earlier, we need to take the grit, desire, fight and aggression (controlled) that we showed against Spurs and hope Sanchez doesn't do anything daft.Ultimately we will only stay in this division if we score goals - so something needs to change. Losing Saturday really doesn't bare thinking about. Who was the last Prem team to lose seven on the trot?
  10. West Ham will fully expect to easily roll us over which just may give us a chance to capitalise on their over confidence by digging in and catching them on the counter. Or we'll be 3-0 down by half time.
  11. well you know what they say (they being people and stuff), it's how you cope with your struggles that defines you. ^^ I'm going to burst into tears and throw my feces at the wall sounds like a reasonable reaction. At least he'd register a shit on target...
  12. No Benteke. Potential loss for seventh game in a row and against in form Hammers. Very worried and expect another loss
  13. Can anyone please give me any reason why we won't get relegated?
  14. Lambert isn't at fault today. Christian is. He was out best player and lost us the game. I fear we're down
  15. Jesus Christ. I am in awe of your optimism
  16. Yet again we will roll over for a team that needs a win to pick up their season. There's no one better to play to get back on track than Aston Villa. Comfortable win for Spurs. No doubt.
  17. If anyone heard Lambert's pre- QPR press conference he was asked about Okore and basically stated how he isn't cutting the mustard right now.
  18. What bothers me is that under Lambert, Norwich were a team that entertained and played good, attacking football and would compete against the best, we're very tough to play at home and played with spirit and determination. We lack all of that and the past three years have been shambolic.
  19. Agree with your assessment about us having no link between midfield and attack - but Cleverley is far from awful. Along with Sanchez he was our best player yesterday. It doesn't help him having to work on the left with Cissokho who was like a headless chicken at times. I've been very impressed with Cleverley, non stop running, great touch and makes the right passes. Our team just doesnt gel in any way and that is a real problem.
  20. No surprises here. Unless we score the first goal in a game (by some miracle) we simply cannot win a football match. We are utterly incapable. Getting spanked by City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Everton is one thing but tonight we showed how totally inept we are at creating chances. We are devoid of creativity and although we kept the ball okay at times we we're only passing it sideways. I fail to see where our next win will come from and am fast running out of patience with Lambert and love for this team. I said after the Man City game (in reference to us not getting close to scoring against City, Chelsea and Arsenal) that I think we're the only team who would fail to create and score in those three games and now we've gone five games workout really threatening to score I'm just worried for our future in this league. Spurs and West Ham next will just continue to ensure this team continues to destroy my weekends. Tonight was just dreadful. And once again we roll over for a side in need of a pick-up. Embarrassing.
  21. We have zero ability to beat anyone by a large margin. We simply do not create enough chances. Loving the optimism but cannot see how you arrived at that. He clearly said it was a gut feeling. Yeah fair enough.

  23. Blues down to ten men apparently... ...and that's just the crowd
  24. This is definitely part of my frustration with Lambert's comments about how taking 3pts from those five games is a good return. It just isn't. Were havnt come close to scoring in the pasta four games and I maintain that I think we're possibly the only team in the league who would draw blanks and not have a sniff. Unacceptable
  25. Hearing Lambert's presser it doesn't sound like Senderos or Baker will be back and Okore isn't cutting the mustard by the seems of it so it'll be Clark and Vlaar back. Vlaar isn't up to speed yet so this is worrying. As many are saying, we're the perfect team to face if you're in need of a pick up. Everton last week, Arsenal the other week are recent examples. Id take a draw just to stop the free fall we're in. We should be going at these from the off as they're fans will be nervous. But as always with us, unless we score the first goal then I fail to see how we can win.
