  1. Didnt realise that you had inside information on team selection.....are you a fly on the dressing room wall? Ha, I wish I was. Just my personal opinion about how Lambert will use Jack. Hope I'm wrong as I think Grealish would do well if he started games for us.
  2. There won't be a Prem game this season where Grealish starts. He'll be reduced to the odd cameo late in the second half of games.
  3. Not a bad shout! An improvement on Gabby any day of the week! Been saying this for a while myself. C'ptn Hutt. What's the value in making him captain - it puts more pressure on the player. I'd much rather Hutton just carry on as he is currently doing. Quietly going about his business in the right way and keeping his head down and staying focused. Love how he is never shirking any challenge and gives his all. He's also shown quite a calm head at times when the game needs to be slowed down and some composure is needed. He's perhaps our most consistent player so far this season and long may it continue.
  4. Yeah the real difference from that Hull game earlier in the season is that we took our chances when we had them and had such great momentum. We're a team limited to having only one or two spurts of momentum per game so its essential we take our chances, assuming we can create some. Okore and Clark will stay put - even if any of Senderos, Baker or even Vlaar are back. Weimann is suspended im told? If this is true then I imagine Nzogbia will deputise. Leicester will make it difficult for us no doubt, but if we get ahead in the game then we should have the quality to see it through.
  5. Only if Benteke stays fit. Otherwise we won't score enough goals to stay up IMO. This. We are so reliant on him its unreal, to the point that should he get sent off (again), an injury (niggle or otherwise) then we have to accept that we almost certainly wont win. Teams will target him each and every game and try and do what Mason and those Spurs b*stards did and get into his head and wind him up. Hopefully he's learnt now to control himself in that situation - because he's certainly not a Suarez and a loose cannon.
  6. It's 2,500 mate but agree, it's really fantastic. You wouldn't keep going back to a restaurant that served you awful food, unless you were in love with the waitress. That's seemingly the case with our away following.
  7. This for me unfortunately. Its a truly sad indictment of where I feel we're at as a club when there's no way I can see us winning it. Against Place. Ridiculous. We should have more of the ball then we did against Saints, but less than we did at Burnley. Need a win, but cant see it.
  8. He'll be gone after the Palace game, I feel.
  9. Must give huge credit to our fans today - they were nothing short of outstanding.
  10. We need to try and be positive against Palace. Seeing Cole's performance against Burnley, along with the rare inclusion of Grealish makes you question why we haven't shaped up like that in recent games. It smacks of negativity and if we're relying on only approaching games in a positive manner against teams in the bottom three then we'll never progress. It's time to start taking the initiative and trying to play football against the likes of Palace. Sounds like Vlaar, Senderos and Baker will still be out so it'll be the same defence. Benteke will start up top and I'd like to see Cole sat behind him. Weimann to make way for Benteke as Gabby has looked quite lively in the past couple of games. Palace are strong at home so this will be a big test for us. I expect far less of the ball than at Burnley so important for us to use the ball well when we have it. Having Cole and Benteke should help with that. Please God no more injuries or suspensions.
  11. Everything but that one moment was positive. We simply dominated - but the reason we are in our biggest relegation fight yet is our inability to do the right things when needed. Gabby giving that ball away was awful. Just awful. Burnley have completely stole the point there - but there was always going to be another chance for them such is our inability to kill a game. The very fact we're going to have to try and settle for not losing is indicative of how absolutely awful we are. We're our own worst enemy. Wed've comfortably won with Benteke, Vlaar and Delph but had the perfect opportunity today to put a few points between us and the bottom three. I'm furious and each week we edge closer to the inevitable.
  12. There you go. Much appreciated. Thought Pete Colley asked the right questions - Lambert is just more than happy to avoid giving honest answers and will instead deflect.
  13. Has anyone got a link to the interview? Is it from the presser? AVTV haven't got it up on the site yet.
  14. Lambert has created a team that doesn't create. But he, along with the rest of the team, need our support more than ever right now. We must stand tall and get behind the boys to try and help them claw out of the mess we're in. Because we're all in it together. Everyone is laughing at us but f**k them. This is our club and by getting behind the team we can throw two fingers up to everyone else and help the team. 4,000 Villa fans at Burnley tomorrow is a good an opportunity as any to start bringing the good name of our club back.
  15. I think we have the capability to not lose this game...but I do not think we have the capability to win it. Draw at best unfortunately.
  16. We needed Hull to lose today to keep them in th mix with us. That's how depressing we have become
  17. Couldn't see any pics of Vlaar from the OS?? And from what Lambert said in his presser we are missing Vlaar, Baker and Senderos. Our only CB's are Clark, Okore and Herd. Shane Long will have a field day.
  18. Unbelievable he didn't even get a booking. Benteke must be shaking his head watching that. He got a red v Spurs for much less But Mason didn't get booked for doing exactly what Wilshire did to Fellani. So the ref was consistent in that respect. Albeit consistently shit
  19. And there was me worried...
  20. That is exactly what injury prone is. Thing with Ron is you'll never get 10 games straight from him with it him getting a knock. And his knocks mean he is missing for months at a time. That won't change. Add I that the fact he's been injured already this season and we're only 11 games in is all you need to know to tell you that he is most definitely injury prone. This wouldn't be so much of a dilemma if Okore was fit and playing but yet again we have another player who is an enigma to our squad. We need to loan a CB in Jan.
  21. Until we have an effective three players ahead of our midfield then we will always fail to witness the true potential of our middle three. Our attacking players are so inept it's unreal.
