  1. More than likely Palace will have a new manager in place for this game and we all know what happens when a team gets a new manager. We struggled at their place and without Westwood and Delph I think we'll struggle again. The pace of Bolassie and Zaha will cause us problems. With our inability to create chances and with the new manager syndrome means I think we'll really be up against it to win. Will be a close game - and I'm just hoping we don't lose yet another player to a red card or injury. Draw at best for me, sadly.
  2. Gabby definitely has his uses for us, primarily the ability to win throw-ins and corners at the other end of the filed when we lump it up or clear our lines. Whether this is enough to justify him in our team is up for debate - but as far as I can see that's his best strength for us. When do we get to hear the result of the appeal?
  3. Just shows the complete lack of consistency between referees this season. Absolutely. Its got to the point now when I feel we're on the verge of a red card in every game we play. The ref's react too much to the players/coaching staff around them and their reactions. Maybe its because we've been affected worse this season than before but I really feel like the refs are at their most inconsistent than ever before.
  4. Thanks for your help and advice guys, much appreciated.
  5. *Help needed* Apologies if this has been covered before in this topic but I've just finished Breaking Bad and absolutely need something else to fill the voice left by Walter and Jesse. Any recommendations on a good series to get stuck into? I'm restricted by Netflix so am after ones I can watch in there... Here's a few suggestions and recommendations I've had from others but wanted to float it to the good people of Vtalk... 1. Homeland (I've done the first two series but never got into the third) 2. 24 (embarrassingly, I've never watch it) 3. Sopranos (see above) 4. House of cards 5. Orange is the new black 6. Modern family Any help, advice or recommendations are greatly appreciated. It's hard coming down from Breaking bad as it was just brilliant and never dipped in quality throughout.
  6. There isn't a player in our team I want to see wearing the No. 5 shirt more than Jores. Just love him. Along with Tekkers he's my fave player
  7. To be fair, this was me a couple of years ago every time we conceded a corner...
  8. This is a game I have started to fear. Swansea have the ability to play teams to death at home so we will need I defend very well against Bony as he is such a threat in front of goal. Hopefully Sanchez can get to work on Shelvey as he can be an influence in their middle too. Add to that the talent that people such as Dyer and Siguerson and we will be up against it. I'd keep Vlaar, Okore and Clark in there - we had a decent shape. Much like against United, I feel we won't have much possession atall but will play to try and counter. Hopefully Christian can give Williams a tough game. Chances will be few and far between so we need some magic from the big man. Expect to see Hutton brought back in and possibly Cleverly. Gabby will hopefully have his red rescinded giving us options with Bacuna, Nzogbia and Grealish on the bench.
  9. Any chance of this decision being rescinded?
  10. Kicking to the Holte isn't the problem... ...scoring is.
  11. They were actually. The Spice Girls were formed in 1994 and we last beat United at home in August 1995. 100% this.
  12. Cleverly is ineligible due to him being on loan. I expect to see that team but with Weimann or Nzogbia in place of Cleverly. Would love to see Grealish start - may as well seeing as Lambert will only set us out to sit back and wait for Utd to inevitably score.
  13. Once again, we are our on worst enemy. A stupid tackle that ensured that we couldn't win the game. Hadn't done much up until that point but I'm convinced we wouldnt've lost if we had a full XI. The fact that we had more possession with a man less and were somewhat comfortable ll game shows how terrible Baggies are. Can't see us getting a point from any of the next two games so we're looking at Sunderland before we have the chance to get a much needed win.
  14. From the OS: Thanks for this. I'd be surprised to see either start but it's good news that they're both returning.
  15. Why all the sudden talk of Delph possibly being fit for this one? Last week he had only just returned to non contact training. I can't see him being ready for a derby only a week later.
  16. Our games with the Baggies are usually close affairs and I expect a close encounter this weekend. This game could go either way - hopefully Cleverley is back, else I can see Lambert bringing in Bacuna and Richardson. Not sure he'll use Grealish -would be nice to see him given a run as I thought he looked decent against Leicester - but I expect Lambert to try and keep it tight and solid so if Grealish is to feature I expect it'll be as a second half sub (depending on how the game is going). Benteke will be up against Lescott which should be a decent battle between the pair and hopefully we can try and keep Berahino quiet. This is a hard one to call and i'm always anxious in derbies -they are seemingly more desperate for the points that us which may (or may not) be an advantage to us, especially if we can grab and early goal. Shame we haven't got Westy for this as seeing how well he was playing against Leicester shoeed how much value he has for us when Benteke is in the team. I think this could be a draw, a win would be unimaginably great - ultimately if we can continue our 5 game unbeaten run then that'll represent a decent spell after such a difficult autumn period for us.
  17. This could be a massively stupid question but is the said app for the iPad? I have only used Villatalk via my mobile or the web version and now I've recently bought an iPad i tried to download the Villatalk app but it was the mobile one and not one for the iPad.
  18. Similar to (down town) Phil Brown. Stock has plummeted, yet his tan still remains.
  19. Yeah cant see him starting Grealish in a fiesty local derby. Assuming Cleverley and Westy are out then maybe he'll use Bacuna and Richardson and seek to perhaps bring Grealish on later in the game depending on how its going. Would be great to see Grealish given a starting role but cant see PL doing that.
  20. Feared the worse when they went one up. They we certainly a threat all game and didn't come to sit back at all. Great header by Clark to draw us level then we began to dominate more with the ball. Difference today was the amount of chances we created -Benteke could've had a hat-trick alone. Gabby looked good today and supported Benteke well. Okore was my MOTM - he did so well today, looked very composed and has struck up a decent partnership with Clark. We're really beginning to show great togetherness, fight and spirit with our performances. Today was the first time we've come back from going behind as well as scoring in front of the Holte. Hutton was excellent and showed great composure for his finish. Big credit must go to Gabby for the work he did for the goal and a delicious pass from Christian to find Hutton. Real shame about losing Westwood - looked really bad - just our luck at the moment with injuries. Hopefully he's not out too long and its not as bad as first feared. Cleverley too, we need him back asap for the baggies game. It just seems that whenever a Villa player gets injured he's out for months not weeks. Big win today - and gives us a little bit of breathing space from the bottom cluster.
  21. The last time I saw our fans as confident as this was against QPR away the other month, which is worrying. We need to get the first goal today (as in any game) to give ourselves the best chance of getting a result.
