  1. They will continue to get away with it as the FA are completely gutless. They will only get points deducted in the close season ahead of next year, if atall.
  2. We simply don't beat Newcastle at their place. Can only hope for a draw at best, sadly. I'm going to completely avoid watching our games now. Its hurts less when I just see the inevitable result as opposed to torturing myself by watching it.
  3. Loss and one step closer to relegation.
  4. I've said it for the past three years - we are the worst team in the Prem at throw-ins. It's utterly frustrating.
  5. I'm always worried when there's positivity around the place and we usually f*ck it up on the pitch. There's been lots of hype, plus with Tim's comments of "we'll be fine" etc - all sets us up for massive failure this weekend. Will be a very tough game, a win would be huge - but i'm too nervous to allow myself the thought of us doing that. Stoke will make it difficult and Crouch and Moses will cause us problems.
  6. Unfortunately, that's my worry too. Sherwood said he's giving everyone a clean slate and will judge them on what he sees in training. Gil wont have enough time, due to his injury, to demonstrate to Sherwood his qualities. Id honestly hope someone at the club shows him videos of his performances for us so far - that'd be enough
  7. Reading away with 5,000 Villa fans would be great.
  8. Stoke wont be any where near the mix for relegation. Would be good to get a bumper crowd in for this one and hopefully play as we did second half against Leicester. Shame Sherwood's first game isn't away to Hull as i'd fancy us. Stoke will be very tough and we rarely ever get a result at VP against them. We absolutely cannot afford to lose this one. A win would be unthinkably good for us. Vlaar simply has to start - today showed not only how solid he is but how composed he is and good on the ball. Hopefully Gil will be back for this (anyone know the extent of his injury?). I'd also expect Bacuna to feature. Huge game.
  9. You've got to give them something your average ten-bob stripper dont...
  10. ...so long as its not Stuart Pearce coming this way
  11. Literally couldn't give a toss about this game. Leicester will roll us over comfortably. We don't need any distractions from our relegation fight - but in truth, I cant see us clawing our way out of the scrap we're in - so all this game will do is increase our chances of injuries and suspensions which will further hamper our survival chances. 0-2 Foxes.
  12. They were huge. I was on a stag do for the Reading game with people I barely knew but I was jumping up and down and hugging them when I heard we'd beaten them. Outstanding atmosphere at the Reading game. Villa fans really did the team proud. Baker booting one in the net for them didnt help but thankfully we got through it. Guzan made, for me, the best save ive ever witnessed a keeper make in the QPR game when he tipped away Samba's header. That whole game was heart-in-the-mouth.
  13. This season i'm less confident of staying up more than before. In previous years Lambert has kept the same style for every game. He had belief in the team and adopted the same style of play whether we were home or away and we managed to scramble over the line. This season is different, he changes his team, style and tactics each game and it smacks of desperation. Add to that we don't have a consistent team of coaches (or even an assistant manager) then it all makes me lose the belief i've had in previous years. We're running out of games and its very worrying, we're in total free fall. In my opinion there's only Leics, Burnley, QPR, Hull and us who will occupy the bottom five places. Sunderland will have enough and WBA and Palace will easily survive as they both have managers who will get the best out of their team. Tomorrow is absolutely massive.
  14. Thin is Lambert's biggest game of his Villa career. Every season we seem to have a game that's labelled our "biggest of the season" - and this is it. This is our cup final. But I cannot, for the life of me, see us winning as I'm so deflated by us at the minute. Prove me wrong boys.
  15. Us playing "not that bad" is completely fruitless because we don't create any good chances.
  16. Thanks for your kind words..
  17. Just put myself through the Lambert press conference ahead of tomorrow's game. The guy is completely broken and the whole conference was spent deflecting criticism and papering over the cracks. Not that I expect any different but we really need actions on the pitch and not mumbling words in a presser. He seems to cut the figure of an isolated man. We need to stick together through these tough times and try our utmost to get behind the lads. We're nothing short of a laughing stock at the moment, from the media, newspapers and fans across the country. This is the time for our boys to roll our sleeves up and dig in and try our best to scramble over the finish line. This, I feel, will be our biggest task at staying up in the Lambert era, and one that I didn't not foresee after our impressive (and solid) start to the season. One thing Lambert said that stuck out for me was "we'll be fine". He said it with some passion and vigour that's been lacking from any interview before (although this may have been because Pete Colley clearly p*sses him off) but we need to believe, as fans, that we can stay up and transcend that positivity on the pitch -especially at VP. We've been difficult to beat this season at VP and as it was pointed out in that online petition and letter sent to Randy Lerner this week, whilst our away fans are second to none, the home fans are currently apathetic to what they're seeing - but give them a team with some fight, a will to win and playing with desire then you'll have VP rocking and that is something special (think back to Chelsea at home last season). We're up against it tomorrow for sure and noone on God's green earth gives us a chance (of scoring) so we have nothing to lose. Maybe if they lose two men to red cards again we may have a sniff of not losing, but in truth we cant expect anything but a loss, which is so sad to have to admit as we're in a league where any team can give any team a decent game on their day. From Lambert's comments he didn't sound too keen to throw Sinclair in there too soon as he's played so little, maybe it cant do any harm tomorrow - but I get the sense Lambert will unleash him in midweek at Hull (our biggest game of the season, no less). Need Benteke to wake up, Gil to have his magic boots on and our defence/midfield to have the game of their lives. I predict 0-2 to the Cockneys. But lets give it a go. UTV
  18. Are we allowed to have two Lamberts at the same time though? We are so long as one of them is competent.
  19. Well we obviously won't get a point from this so it'll be 90 mins of hoping Gil doesn't get injured or sent off. **** me it's depressing being a Villa fan.
  20. 1. Gutless performance. Richardson and Sanchez were utterly atrocious. 2. No goals in 10 hrs of league football is unacceptable. 3. Lambert showed again how tactically incompetent he is 4. Gil is the only player who can hold his head high. Never stopped going forward and constantly has a positive approach. 5. I fear this is finally our year. Hope I'm wrong
  21. Yes and Sanchez and Richardson our worst two 100% this. Frustrating me how muchof they're both giving the ball away with simple passes or even a throw in with Richardson. Absolutely awful.
  22. This surely has to be the song for Hutton? It would be perfect
