  1. Looked composed and calm on the ball and generally sound. Just lacking fitness - when he's up to speed I imagine we'll se him demanding the ball more and driving forward.
  2. For me, Tim has his hands tied with his selection. Veretout and Gestede aren't fit enough yet and Okore, Gil and Grealish are injured. Not ideal at all and leaves us with the same team to field that we've been struggling in pre season with.
  3. Can see both teams scoring and a close game which we ultimately buckle to two late goals. 3-1 or 4-2 Bournemouth Prove me wrong Tim!
  4. No Gil, Grealish and Okore. So much uncertainty on how we'll set up offensively. Can't see anything but a defeat here which will satisfy the media w.ank fest that will precede the game.
  5. Embarrassingly, I take great pleasure from kicking off the match threads so thought I'd get the first one for this season up and running. Have absolutely no idea how we'll line up on Saturday, although the biggest clue is probably from the team that started the game at Forest. Our new players are going to need plenty of time to gel and establish a fluid style to their play so I've slig worries over that. My other worry is that it's always very tough playing newly promoted teams at their place for their opening game. We fell short at West Ham doing so as well as at Pompey some years ago. If we can keep their crowd quiet and get a grip on the game (ie, not concede first) then we may be able to create some chances. Their crowd will be chomping at the bit as its their biggest game in their history - Tim needs to keep us composed. Richards as a CB simply frightens the life out of me so if we haven't brought in another CB this week then I expect him and Clark to be our pairing. I assume we won't have Gil which is disappointing but hoping to see Veretout and Gueye in our midfield. Would be great to get off the mark with a win but I feel this could be a typical fairytale game for the start of Bournemouth's Premier League campaign. Hope Tim fires us up for this. Thoughts?
  6. Does anyone know if AVTV works on the iPad in showing the games?
  7. "Finally been convinced"...makes it sound like Sherwood has gone in there with a gun against his head
  8. But value is dependent on what someone is willing to pay. If Lukaku was bought for £28m and Luke Shaw for £30 then Benteke is easily worth £32.5m.
  9. In my opinion Scott Sinclair was playing as well for Swansea as Fabian is for us now when he got poached to Man City...and look where that got him: sat on the bench and a forgotten footballer. I know money talks, but Delph is the captain of Villa and a regular in the England starting line-up. I fail to see how sitting on the bench, or being a bit-part player for City will help his cause. Add to that he isn't good enough to command a starting role for them and would more than likely be a stand-in player for domestic cups and the odd Premier League game, should all be in his thinking. Furthermore, if City start slow and fall behind the pack then Pellagrini's position is very much in question and a new manager would bring his own ideas. I think he'll stay - id be very disappointed (both as a Villa fan but also as a football fan) if Delph opted for City. He's a tremendous player for us and has got momentum, I think he could strive with us for another season.
  10. Did anyone hear Sherwood say in his post match interview at he's already told some players that they won't be required next season. I m wondering when he chose to broke the news to those players and if anyone of them were starting for us yesterday - as that could explain just how vacant our players were... ...or we're simply not a match for Arsenal.
  11. Is there any realistic hope that we wont be selling him this summer? Or am I dreaming?
  12. Lock the thread my lord Lock the thread Lock the thread my lord Lock the thread Lock the thread my lord Lock the thread Oooooooooh Lord Lock the thread
  13. Expecting this to be a decent footballing game. Saints' approach should (dare I say) suit us more than West Ham as we tend to play better against teams who come right at us. Always tough down there though and they don't tend to lose many on the south coast. They will want to get a win in their last home game so to not go out on a damp squid in what has been (overall) an excellent season. Same team for me, keeping Nzogbia in for Gabby. Don't expect us to win down there but think we can cause some problems. The good thing about having Benteke and Grealish is that they both offer two different approaches for our attacking play. Grealish's flair brings our midfielders into play and gives us more threat. Go get 'em Tim and let's hope Spurs turn up against Hull.
  14. A win would be simply huge. We're playing well and full of confidence. Obviously other results depending but if we can get 3pts against a resilient Alladyce team then it would be massive. Thing is we are almost certainly going to concede (as in every game) so we need to hope Delph and Benteke are as up for this one as they were against Everton. Will naturally be tough for us though. Same team as Saturday I'd expect. Come on Tim...carry us home.
  15. Newcastle won't go down atall in my opinion. Their crowd will all back then to the hilt in their home games and see them crawl over the line.
  16. Feeling annoyed after City. Everton will be a tough test for Sherwood. They will let us have the ball more and try get us on their break. Sherwood will probably set us up to go right at them as he did against Stoke and Swansea. We have a problem at home against the teams with nothing to play for. Can't see us winning this. Everton always do us at VP. Martinez always seems to do well against us. Prove me wrong Tim.
  17. Have no idea why people were so confident we'd stay up after beating Spurs. We have always been deep in the relegation scrap and need to save or own skin as no one else will be doing is any favours this year more than any other.
  18. Martin Tyler is desperate for United to score.
  19. At least Burnley lost. Next week Leics play Burnley at Turf Moor
  20. Very odd when Baines has such a good penalty record. As for Leicester - they're on a great run. Only 4 points behind us if they win! Getting really worried about Leics - they're arguably the best footballing side down in the bottom 5 and keep getting results. Need Swansea to prevent Lecis from winning.
  21. Typical isnt it. As soon as Barkley grabbed the ball to take the pen you just knew he'd fluff it. Why didn't Baines take it! Ridiculous.
  22. What's the current criteria on getting a ticket?
