  1. Something in one of the rags about Liverpool hoping to complete a deal with Mascherano. Funny we've heard nothing about Villa being linked with Tévez, not that he'd get into the team of course.
  2. Sorry to come in a bit late on this. Along with the great truths spoken by Guardian_Angel_M, I really think Rocafella is largely right in what he says about Aimar, except that I'm not all that sure about him falling out with managers. He's a wonderful little player but isn't all that suited to Spanish football and would be even less suited to English football. He is nothing like physical enough. Ortega must be in his dotage, quite apart from other problems, not least the one of being one of the biggest prats on this earth. "The Little Donkey" had an arse like a donkey too. Richard mentioned Tarantini. After only a couple of games it was clear that this was one of SHA's greatest signings of all times, although there has been a challenge in recent times from the likes of Anderton and Pandiani. I only wish Tarantini had stayed for many, many years at the Sty.
  3. Sorry if I'm not very on the ball. Has the news that Barcelona are thinking of letting Ronaldinho go filtered through yet? Or is the news a week or so old already. No real interest to us though anyway is it?
  4. I bet it was Old Fart :-) Read page one of the thread you Scunthorpe-struck git. Who do Albion fans dislike most? Us or Wolves? I reckon it's us.
  5. I'm from south-east Birmingham so it's got to be SHA.
  6. This seems to be boomeranging on you at the moment doesn't it Grant?
  7. Funny how Orbison carried on having hits despite all the other stuff that was going on in the 60s. Good songs and a unique voice perhaps. Must admit I always liked him.
  8. Don't USE that word Mr Grogan! (Means whore in Spanish)
  9. Riquelme - Great at being a big fish in a small pond but not so good when he played in a in a team of stars at Barcelona (some would say they didn't give him much of a chance mind you). A team of stars, oh... And then this which I agree with. He is a marvellous passer of a ball but...
  10. Punk came on top of hey, The Bay City Rollers (the kids'll really love em - oh dear)
  11. yeah but he wants to vote for the 1850's  1900s actually. Elgar in his pomp. I am just about to click on the 60s, including The Beatles, right  ? Oh and Richard, drive carefully now.
  12. Resisting the temptation to post [bOF wrote][Pelle wrote][John Cresswell wrote] and thus make myself an item on the agenda of the weekly Mods meeting in Deritend, I would just ask where our friend with the news on Alan Smith has got to. Probably gone to leave some sweeties at the door of VP, where Reo-Coker and Bellamy have been trapped for about a week by the evil club doctor as he performs some kind of perverted medical on them involving calipers and leg-irons.
  13. You asked a question, Brian. I answered it. Surely Torres plays alongside better players when he plays for his country. You (a lot of you) have been judging him on the basis of a good World Cup. Ask any Spanish football fan, including Atlético fans, whether they think Torres is world class. He's putting them away (well he's got 7 in the league) for his club at present. Big fish, small pond. One swallow (2006 WC) doesn't make a summer. And he's a whingeing mummy's boy.
