  1. My view on the Bellend would depend first and foremost on whether he is capable of scoring lots of goals (which I sincerely doubt) and whether he can stay out of trouble off the pitch (which is more likely).
  2. I too would be surprised, but I agree with those sentiments.
  3. Sorry, I was replying to this: I'm not saying you won't be right, but you did say the same thing about Micah Richards for the January transfer window! Got a linked quote? Oh, and here's the link to the quote: link to a quote It's the 7th one down.
  4. The more I think about it the more I am convinced that Richards from Citeh will be joining in January
  5. Re Vic Crowe In fact I don't think his family had been in Wales very long when Vic was born. His dad was a footballer and happened to play for Merthyr Town for a while, which is how Vic was Welsh. No Pelle, I'm not his dad.
  6. So what? You can bet your life someone was just about to! Gera way with you. Edit: Look, Rocafella just did, for example.
  7. On Revista de la Liga yesterday I heard Zigic's name in connection with Real Madrid  Whenever Real Madrid aren't doing as well as they'd like or even suffer one little defeat on their way to the League title their friends in the media start trying to unsettle other teams with this kind of rumour, and in this case Madrid recently lost to Racing so it's time to get bitchy again. Zigic doesn't move his arse very much but in the same way that they said that Puskas had a left foot "like a glove", Zigic has a head like a glove. He would be nice as cover. He's no Carew though. More like a mobile lamppost. EDIT: And he is certainly slow, although with those long legs he covers the ground quicker than it seems.
  8. Yeah! Which is no doubt why Valencia's crummy pair of strikers Villa and Morientes play regularly for Spain at the moment and Torres doesn't. He had a good World Cup. Baroš had a good Euro Nations Cup once IIRC.
  9. A good partner for Gabby would be Carew or Moore . Backup for Carew - a cheeky bid for Zigic anyone? And I agree with Sonic_Bouma and what he says about Milner.
  10. I guess that at present what I want is Carew and Gabby, but sell Luke Moore? Hell no. So I agree with a lot of this, especially the last bit, which I've highlighted. Cover for Carew perhaps, that's all.
  11. When you're feeling down: Go to Wikipedia Do a search for Colin rocket polisher Sit and look at: Neil Warnock (Redirected from Colin rocket polisher) I find this strangely uplifting.
  12. Saviola would be an expensive way of taking us down to the next level. Even so his agent will be looking to place him with an ECL club. I'm in the "let's sign backup for Carew" camp anyway, but who? Ashton, how's the old ankle or whatever? He hasn't played for a year has he? Good player but I'd rather he got fit somewhere else. Big money I'd rather see invested in midfield or right back. Milner would be nice too.
  13. Yes, quite. "The doom and gloom mongers" always reminds me of what Sid and Doris Bonkers used to say whenever there were signs of light at Neasden FC - "That'll be one in the eye for the knockers". 'KEEP THE FAITH' the man shouts. I thought we were Aston Villa, not f***ing Celtic.
  14. Pardon me but a tad unfair? Just a little paranoic even? A simple statement of opinion by a poster.
  15. Seconded. Great report. Also, sadly, only the second time I've ever seen the word "mewling".
  16. How about that Ashley Young of Watford? He obviously isn't a winger but a central striker and I reckon he and John Carew of Olympique Lyonnais could get us a good 10 goals a season between them.
  17. Can't say I have ever studied Barry's bottom, I will pay more attention at the Sheffield game. I am just a bit worried that a man has recommended this. And Patrick I do actually go to watch the football. I'll rephrase that. "It would seem that somebody on You Tube ..."
