  1. He may not have asked them to drop off, but a lack of desire to get stuck in comes from the coaching team. Either this is happening on the training pitch and not getting corrected, or they do it in training but lack the confidence to do it in a match. Whichever it is, both faults rest, ultimately, at DSs feet. He sent out a team today that was never going to make or win tackles in midfield. I don't feel DS has learned anything since we got promoted, and worse, he has regressed significantly. I cannot see us surviving with DS at the helm. I think a better coach could make something of the squad we have.
  2. He hasn't learned from any other games this season so what makes you think he will suddenly start learning now? The mistakes made today are the same mistakes we were making in game one. I dont understand how 11 strangers in game one had better chemistry than a team thats been playing together for months. Whats the coaching team at?
  3. DS got it wrong from the 1st minute and his ego stopped him from changing it until it was too late. Criminal managerial performance, and almost as bad by the players. I'd sack him as his head has gone. Hasnt learned from any of his mistakes this season, and has lost the squad imo. Get rid and bring in someone who might savage our season
  4. 6 man city forwards against 8 villa defenders and there isnt a villa defender within 10 yards of a man city plauer. Is it that they are told not to track players? Is this a zonal vs man marking thing? Cant zonally mark against a team with this much movement
  5. You'd think we'd have a team of Lions. But they are only cubs. The ones that got eaten by the lion when mom wasn't looking.
  6. DS you prideful idiot. Take drinkwater off you absolute numpty! You f**ked it up, but have too much pride, arrogance, ignorance to put it right! This proves to me you are not a PL manager. You dont learn from your mistakes, and aren't prepared to admit or rectify them when you do. Destined for relegation as long as he remains at the club. Just not capable at this level.
  7. 100% agree, and i think you're being kind to DS in your appraisal. Not sure i've seen a worse top flight performance by anyone. Southamptons 9-0 defeat included.
  8. DS is quoted as saying he signed Drinkwater as he saw fire in his eyes. Well theres no fire there today. I wonder if he, or both of them, were drunk, because Drinkwater looks like a pub player today. Luiz has been shit too, and Hourihane completely anonymous, but both miles better than Drinkwater. Criminal.
  9. If Drinkwater was DSs pick, sack him now as he has clearly lost the plot. Theres a reason why he has only played once in 2 years. Absolute disgrace.
  10. For me this capitulation highlights how important it is to have nakamba in there. Hourihane, luiz and drinkwater cant takle and are too weak.
  11. Well its paid off sticking him 8n. Directly at fault for all the goals.
  12. Only for norwich, our trajectory would be 20th. Thanks to them, itll be 19th
  13. Stick me on. Think id do a better job than half the villa team right now. Bank of 5 defenders Banks of 4 midfielders. Not a single one marking tracking or anywhere near a man city player - jokeworthy
  14. And people say nakamba gives it away alot. Drinkwater is truely shit
  15. With the game that was in it, i thought he did quite well. Showed some of our lazy 1st teamers what harrying and pressing should look like. His 1st touch wasnt great, but its only his 2nd app at this level and he is only 18 so wont judge too harshly. Could do with his energy in the team
  16. Grealish was playing up front tonight. Nakamba was better than luiz, hourihane and lansbury. Also worth pointing out that nakamba has better pass accuracy, tackles, interceptions and blocks than mcginn over the season too. Not saying hes a great, or even particularly good, player, but this season, hes been our best based on defensive measures. As you asked, he lost posession 9 times tonight, 4 in our defensive 3rd. Puts him 8th of 15 in the defensive 3rd. So really seems like you might be scape goating a little tbh. I also dont understand how you can pin leicesters goal on him. Luiz, sure, konsa, maybe, but nakamba? Sorry, but no.
  17. In a yeam that averaged 73% passing accuracy, 86% is amazingly good. The header with Mings is poor communication and his interceptions were the best on the pitch, so not sure where you are going with the doesnt break up play comment. Head and shoulders better than any of our midfielders tonight.
  18. Not sure why so many people are on nakambas case tonight. 2nd best tackling percentage and 3rd best pass success rate. Granted it was only 86 percent but in a team of bad passers he is far from the worst.
  19. First half was very very good. Result, whilst it might have been better, is brilliant. Poor game management in sticking 11 behind the ball from half time, when should have been trying to keep the ball and take the sting out of them, but hey-ho. Promising for the return leg.
  20. I am, in another country, and with slightly lower certification.
  21. No excuse for not being able to match them for fitness. This season theyve played more games than we have, and the average mins per player is higher for them than us. So you must be saying our coaching isnt good enough? I agree!
  22. "There are alternatives ..." How about, put your foot on it, pass it around and keep possession, make leicester chase the ball? Not rocket science!
