  1. Half chance? I'd back my nan to score those, and shes dead. Terrible miss. Great finish from Trez. Fingers crossed we dont 'do a villa' in the second half
  2. With Wet Spam and Watford both winning today, I'm afraid it no longer matters - we're done.
  3. Fail to win this and we're down. I expect a 3-1 defeat.
  4. Thats it though isn't it? Any player can make mistakes that concede goals, like Reina rushing out and missing his kick, Engels doing the same. But both players have only done that once. Closing players down constantly and consistently is some that can easily be coached into even the most talentless of players, but DS and JT couldn't drill it into this bunch, assuming they have tried. There are so many things that we get wrong every game that have nothing to do with ability, but everything to do with coaching, that leaves me wondering if we doing anything at Bodymoor at all. The coaching staff clearly have not got the ability to drill a team, or inspire, or motivate. Complete clearout required in the backroom staff,. And I mean complete. Don't keep any 9f them, because we clearly don't coach correctly at any level.
  5. 100% not McGinn's fault, its the muppett that keeps picking him when hes clearly not ready
  6. Its not only my opinion, its shared by most fans and pundits, so i am afraid you are in the minority if you think his performance was anything other than poor.
  7. Hate? I'd applaud, particularly in Jack's case. Its been like playing with 10 men since the restart he has been so absent.
  8. Sorry but if anyone is delusional here, then it is you. Mings missed at least 2 clearance before the penalty that Hause had to come across for and recover. He stood off and failed to close down on nearly every attack. He stood by watching united players pass around him with his head down between his shoulders all game. Fans, pundits, impartials have all stated how poor he was tonight. So if you are the only man saying he wasnt bad, then i hate to break it to you, but you are the problem.
  9. Can anyone tell me why Taylor moved to right back and Konsa to left back?
  10. The Leicester side that won the league were nowhere near the most talented squad, but they worked damn hard and as a unit. This villa team has some talent but most of them wouldn't know hard work if it bit them. Yeah, some of that is down to the players, but the players aren't playing for the manager. He isn't motivating or inspiring them, he doesn't even look like he can motivate himself.
  11. Shocking penalty call, but Mings has been dire all game. Things are seriously bad when Hause looks more like the senior defender than England capped Mings. Grealish not turned up again. Absolutely shocking. You can say its not on the manager, its the players letting him down. To that i say: He picks them He instructs them He coaches them He is responsible for motivating and inspiring them. I see no motivation or inspiration 9n the faces of those villa players, and that is on DS.
  12. I'd say DS has too seeing as he hasnt featured since the restart
  13. So putting recently injured plauers (mcGinn) at risk of reinjury by overplaying them isn't enough of a reason to criticise? I like the bloke, and were we still in the championship, i would be delighted to have him here. But he has consistently shown that he is tactically naieve, is unable or unwilling to change a game, and has poor game management. I'd add that i think he has issues motivating his players, as its very rare we come out better after a half time team talk. I'm afraid the DS experiment hasn't worked, and its time to move on. I say again, i don't dislike him, he just isn't good enough.
  14. My biggest issue is that Smith did neither. Our midfield tired, he didn't make a change, the opposition freshened their midfield, he did nothing, our midfield sat on their heels whislt liverpool walked on and scored, still nothing. Then he changes our striker and winger and doesn't address the areas most in need. Same issue as matchday one, DS just does not recognise when a games changes or refuses to change and it results in conceding
  15. Does that make Di Matteo a world class manager then, because he won the champions league once? No, on the whole DS has finished mid champ at best. Its clearly his level. Only has a plan a and does not know how to influence games. Out thought by nearly every manager in this division.
  16. Disagree completely. At 60 minutes McGinn was dead on his feet. Grealish was barely running all game, and Luiz had last a yard. Liverpool bring on 2 sets of fresh legs in their midfield 3 and instantly they are on top, not only because their players are better, but ours were no longer able to press and chase. Bringing on players with fresh legs may well have weakened us in terms of ability, but for liverpools first goal, all 3 of our midfield sat on their heels because they didnt have the legs to close down, where a fresh player would have done. Again, i am not saying they wouldnt have scored, but wed have at least made it harder for them. If as you say DS hesitated because he has no faith in his bench - well, he signed most of them if not all, so ive no sympathy. Fresh legs over ability every time for me. Makes a huge difference.
  17. They've both played LB before, as has Hause. All relatively successfully.
  18. I don't agree on the quality of the squad, we will see the majority of the players leaving us will go on to have good careers at this level, as we have seen in the past. The players are not the problem.
  19. Tbf, Samatta looked decent before the lockdown. I still think there is a player in Samatta, but not as a target man. I'd play him on the flank ahead of Trez in a heartbeat.
  20. Yeah, i don't believe that earlier subs change the result, but when we have a paper think squad that picks up injuries often, you'd have to be a fool not to take players off when they are clearly struggling. Tired players pick up more injuries.
