Thats the first time i have seen it. I don't think the contact is sufficient for him to go down like that. He has made it look like a dive for me.

Not bothered about the penalty. We didn't deserve anything for that performance. Never looked up for it until it was too late. Smith really struggles to motivate the team against lower league teams for some reason. Very frustrating.

Helps the goal difference at least. Make no mistake though, for 70 minutes we were dreadful.

We were good at the start of last season too and had some bad look and poor discipline that cost us results. That bad luck hasnt hit us this season and thats the biggest difference i see tbh.

People spoke about getting a more experienced partner to play alongside Mings, i think we would be better served replacing him with a commanding cb.

Oh i don't believe we'll get anything from the game, but a better performance even seems beyond us right now. I'd see a final score of 3-0 as an improvement from here, i just dont see that happening. Expecting 5 or 6

You missed the liverpool game then did you? The plauers are capable, even decent to good, but lack mental strength and need leadership. Poor teams with good leadership can turn games. This team is more than capable of mayching Southampton given leadership and inspiration. It seems to me though, when the players struggle for inspiration, the manaher throws in the towel rather than looking to lift them and provide that support. Hes just not a very good manager - but hes a good coach.

It happens time and again: this team is mentally fragile and lacks leadership on and off the pitch. When things go well, we are very good, when its anything less than good, we fall apart and look completely unable to turn it around.

This is classic Smith tbh All thrpugh his managerial career he goes on good runs followed by terrible ones. This isnt a surprise. Hes 1 dimensional and gets easily found out. If plan A fails, oh well we tried...

Because going 1 down to Leeds heads dropped and we quickly conceded 2 more. If we don't respect Southampton as we didn't Leeds, confidence will spiral. This team is still mentally fragile.

As others have said, Southampton are similar to Leeds, so Dean really needs to up his tactical game to avoid another humbling here. Loss this, and i fear for the team.
