  1. Barkely started our last 4 games and has been trash in all 9f them. DS keeps picking him. Thats why.
  2. Barkley couldn't pass 1st half either and has been head and shoulders our worst player 3 games in a row. Plus they aren't the only 2 playing badly after the restart. We were crap 1st half, and DS has changed nothing.
  3. Classic DS half time team talk as Villa come out and look even worse.
  4. The big difference between Villa and Southampton? Villa player receives the ball and instantly gets challenged by 1 or 2 players. Southampton player receives the ball turns, turns again, looks around a bit, turns again, passes it, then a Villa player arrives. We are so slow to press and are generally nowhere near the opposition. This is basic training ground stuff lads. Pathetic. No idea how we are ahead...
  5. He's playing well, but how many chances does Ollie need? Keeps hitting the keeper...
  6. We'd have been better off starting with 9 men rather than playing Traore and Barkley. Complete passengers. This is an embarrassing display.
  7. Drop Traore and Barkley and McGinn, and we have a chance. If not, 3-1 defeat.
  8. His disbelief is part of the problem. I am sure many on here could see Burnley were getting on top of us long before the equaliser. And there were plenty of tired legs. Lots of things he could have done to change the pattern of the game and make us more solid. Replace Traore with Trez, Barkley with Nakamba and instantly we are a tighter unit and harder to break down, while still offering plenty going forward.
  9. Its not the first time we've done it, and i know for sure it wont be the last. Dean could have made changes to prevent that scoreline and either through pride, ignorance, or just plain stupidity, didnt make the necessary subs soon enough when it was clear the tide had turned. Its the same in every game I watch. No subs until its too late.
  10. A lot of good those 2 cup goals did up tonight in the league. The stats i quote are league only. Ollie has a minus 4 actual to expected goals on understat in the league. For context: Bamford has +2 Callum Wilson +1 CalvertLewin +2 Zaha +3 In terms of ability, he's around these guys, but he's SO wasteful
  11. The stats disagree with you, and what i see game after game tells a different story. Think back to the likes of Andy Cole. Scored loads of goals, but needed 4 or 5 good chances to get there. He got so many chances to score, he still scored loads, but with better application should have scored more. And he's far from as good as cole
  12. According to the usual top stays sites, none. But I can think of more than a few off the top of my head... And according to understat he is the 2nd most wasteful player in the league behind Maupay.
  13. According to the usual top stays sites, none. But I can think of more than a few off the top of my head...
  14. Its what tells me he isn't the quality striker we need. I'd push him out wide when Wesley returns or sign a new striker. He's very wasteful.
  15. And give away too many soft goals and take less chances than our opponents. Exactly
  16. It'd be a fluke if it didn't happen so often. I think in most games we have lost we have created more and better chances than the opposition. Thats not a fluke, its a pattern.
  17. Going forward, I agree. It may be that his defensive work is bad because Traore offers him no protection, but his defending was poor with Trez too who does a huge amount defensively. Hes just not a very good defender.
  18. Trez is the hardest working player we have. Far less luxury than Traore who offers next to nothing defensively. Nakamba for Barkley and Trez for Traore would have made a huge difference.
  19. KiWasted so many good chances and defended terribly, despite playing reasonably well. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Mings and Cash are liabilities defensively and cost us so many goals. I'd be prioritising a Mings replacement above all else. I remain unconvinced by our forward options, Grealish aside. So very wasteful in front of goal.
  20. Doesn't explain why the same happens when Trez plays or when Cash was at Forest though does it? His lax defensive work isn't isolated to the United game, its happened all season, and throughout his career.
  21. Can't disagree more. Defensively Cash is poor. He makes some headline last gasp tackles but often stands and stares while opponents run by him, his positional awareness is poor and he oftens fails to track his man. He was very fortunate when Shaw burst past him and he fell to his knees because there was very little contact. Not good enough defensively for this league. Hell, he wasnt good enough defensively in the champ for Forrest!
  22. We played ok today, but there were more than a few passengers for me. The penalty, if that was Grealish instead of Pogba i'd want a pen, so i can accept it. Martinez - 8 - despite conceding 2, neither of which he had a chance with, he was prob our best player and made 3 or 4 top saves Cash - 7 - great going forward, hit and miss defensively, though not helped by Traore (more on that later). Think he would be better wide right with a more defensively solid rb behind him. Targett - 6 - poor defensively often failing to track his runner. Ok going forward but his final ball was often lacking Mings - 6 - I honestly don't see why this guy is getting picked for England. Often out of position, lots of misplaced passes and his decision making is poor. Think the defence looked better without him. Konsa - 6 - marginally better than Mings, but at least Konsa is young and improving. Not his best day. El Ghazi - 6 - huffed and puffed but was back to his usual wasteful self today. Ok squad player but he needs to not be starting. McGinn - 7 - started very badly first 10 mins. Then was really good for about 40 mins, then he disappeared for a while. Frustrating, think he was tired. Luiz - 7 - similar to mcginn came in and out of the game too much. Though he gave the penalty away, it was soft so i havent penalised him. Grealish - 8 - not his best gave and we saw his petulant side too often, but also 4 or 5 brilliant moments deserving of better finishing. Traore - 5 - he scored a goal, and took it well. Outside of that he was an outright calamity. Players run past and he stands and watches. The lad was a full on liability today and needs dropping. Unacceptable Watkins - 6 - should have 2 or 3 goals today. Poor finishing cost us as he was at the heart of it. He has moments but i really don't think he's good enough. Certainly not the player i thought we were getting Ramsey - 5 - i don't see the fuss about this lad. Too weak on the ball and does little off it. Clearly the coaches see something... Davis - 5 - might have won us the game with his 2 chances. I want him to be a success, and he does cause problems and create spaces, but his finishing is poor. I just can't see him making it. Smith - 6 - slow out the blocks AGAIN, set us up well to be fair, but his pre match chats seem to put the players to sleep. Changes were too few too late AGAIN, it feels like if plan a fails, theres no plan b so he just draws straws to see what to do. Unconvinced. For me, much work needed in this transfer window. A cb, 2 wide players and a striker still required along with a defensive midfielder. Our squad is paper thin and with such a condensed season we are going to fade without new blood.
  23. Get Traore off before he costs us. Disgraceful performance. Ermmm...
