Same players making the same errors game after game, manager changing nothing, picking the wrongvtype of player for the wrong opposition. Making like for like changes or playing people out of position rather than looking to change a game. I'd prefer us to look competent at lose, than play like losers and scrape by. We are a shambles. Smith has taken us to the height of his ability, and i thank him. But he is out of his depth and needs to move on. As do many of the players

I'd argue Luiz is a better footballer than both. His pasding for sure is much better. What he lacks is their strength, guile and tenacity, which is why he should not be played as a cdm. Maybe a deep playmaker? I have said before, when we have possession Luiz works in the deeper role. When we have little possession, we are better off with Nakamba. Thats why i find it so frustrating that Nakamba started at SU and Luiz at Wolves. Should have been the other way around if you want to make the most of each players best qualities. And its decisions like this that convince me that DS can't take us further than he has.

For me he has been asked to do a different role in recent games, than what he was doing earlier in the season. He is ditting much deeper and making far less progressive passes, and far less forward runs. It doesn't suit his game at all. He needs to be a box to box player, not a dm, sa his range of passing is excellent.

We have a paper thin squad. We don't want to always be 1 or 2 injuries away from a crisis. I'd argue we have a reasonable first 11, and beyond that we are pretty poor. I'd be looking for at least 4 to go into the starting 11 and then another 4 or 5 young players with more quality than our existing squad players. We still lack any real quality out wide. AEG and Trez need upgrading. We still need more quality at CM. We've no depth in defence at all, and no options up front.

Unfortunate 1st half. Dire 2nd. Have to wonder what happens in the dressing room at half time as its very rarely positive for Villa. Changes made things worse and we dropped deeper as Wolves seized control. Barkley did his best to give Wolves the win, and we somehow clung on. Depressing.

I don't enjoy the team making basic errors that are coachable, and a manager who refuses to change things when they aren't working, and persists using players that are either not good enough or completely out of form. But as a fan, my enjoyment isn't the reason I watch.
