In my opinion, he should be banned from the next 10 competitive Uruguay matches. But if FIFA want to go through with this, it will set up a very interesting showdown between the English FA and FIFA right when FIFA is at it's lowest point ever in terms of public perception. If the FA can challenge FIFA on this, they ought to be challenged on Qatar as well. Of course, does the FA really want to take up the cause of the most despicable player in the world?

Yeah, lets not punish anybody for anything in case it messes with their day job. My cousin should have tried that argument when he got nicked for speeding and lost his licence. Why should the company he works for have to suffer because he acted like a dickhead? You're making the mistake of insinuating football and real life are even remotely alike
  3. Meanwhile, Michael Bradley served up another platter of poo. He needs to sit.
  4. Crap, I clicked on the first page and got all excited...
  5. Very strange. But it'll give you time to iron out the details in the prediction league! Have to agree with the above, has been some brilliant football played by all the teams in that group. Have enjoyed watching most of the games to be honest, a lot of attacking football compared to the last World Cup. And no bloody vuvuzelas
  6. They know they can essentially hold their country to ransom. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the start of a trend in 3rd World countries.
  7. Kind of a snoozy group, can't say I'm particularly interested in Russia-Algeria
  8. I want the opposite. May the better team win!
  9. With Platini in charge of FIFA and there being 62 teams at World Cup Bahrain 26 a 41 year old Ronaldo will be there... Platini will want to form "All-Federation" teams for an "Ultra World Cup"
  10. There's gonna be so many clueless Americans asking why they should be happy with a loss....the continuing education of a nation....
  11. And based on this tournament, Africa too.
  12. Better than Asia/Oceania, for sure.
  13. no chance look at the difference in quality between both squads of players. I think USA will be very confident going into the game against Belgium. Why shouldn't they be, they are a resilient side with the ability to show flashes of brilliance. I just don't want to see us go to penalties.
  14. Most of the commentators say it's been the best tournament for fans in a long time, to be fair international football doesn't really seem to be full of chants and looking round the crowds they seem to be dotted here there and everywhere plus a block rather than all together Except at the Brazil games, where it's been all yellow. And quiet. Maybe because they knew they'd win the group easily, they've been reserved and plan to turn it up a bit against Chile, who will actually have a sizable contingent in the stadium to help get the atmosphere going.
  15. This referee is poor, I wouldn't be surprised if the game turns on a mistake by him
  16. I've been disappointed with the Brazilian support so far. Most of them just sit there fairly quietly. Strange.
  17. Bradley still looking like a college player
  18. Albania has always seemed an enigma to me. Right in the middle of Europe basically, but an isolated 3rd world country for so long
  19. Looks like they'll play the game, but probably to a half empty stadium
  20. Here's hoping Colombia smash Uruguay on Saturday...
  21. Is "12 Years a Slave" good, or is it heavy handed Oscar bait?
