Well, after watching Argentina again, I think Holland should go through to the final. It will be tough, because if it is Argentina they play, it will be like playing them in Buenos Aires. Should be a good game, but Holland are better in every part of the pitch.

I actually think he was our worst player over the 4 matches. He covered the most distance, but doing what? All he did was slowly lumber around, let balls trickle by him without running them down, let players glide by him without trying to get stuck in...when he had the ball he either passed it sideways, backwards, or turned it over. Very rarely did he play a probing through ball, very rarely did he make an aggressive run off the ball, very rarely did he make any run WITH the ball. His free kicks sucked too. He jogged around thinking he was a world class player, but he's just not. He basically sleepwalked through the entire tournament. Massive disappointment.

That cheeky set piece at the end of extra time would have been absolutely amazing had Dempsey's heavy first touch not let him down.

Do you want an owner who just developed a fleeting interest in football based on a couple of games by the US? I'm pretty certain Fenway Sports Group knew spunk all about English football before they became interested. I'd like an owner who is keen on English football for whatever his reasons are, hopefully one of them is that he's been seduced by the allure of just being a part of it.

Now, will new converts to the sport appreciate the long slog that is qualification? Do they even understand that we needed to qualify? That's the big test in how far the country has come in embracing the sport. Will people pile into bars for away games at the Azteca? Will qualifying matches get even a sliver of the media coverage these World Cup games have? I have some doubts. But, nonetheless, a massive step has been taken in just two weeks. If hosting the World Cup in 1994 set everything in motion, this World Cup has finally legitimized the sport as a major force domestically.

I believe that we have lost Tim Howard played the game of his life, one that will be talked about for years to come. Brave defending by the USA, under almost constant pressure. Not sure why JK dropped Beckerman and put Cameron in midfield...we set up to defend, and I think if we played a more direct attacking game, we could have won it. Beckerman and Dempsey had been linking up nicely, and Dempsey was quiet today, go figure. We should have won it if Wondoshitski hadn't missed that sitter at the very end of regulation. Painful image to erase from my mind. We should be preparing for Argentina.

In terms of miles travelled between venues, the USA logged the most after the group stage. Not doing us any favors by playing in another sweltering climate in Bahia... Belgium to me have not really looked that interested, whereas what the USA lacks in skill, they make up for in spirit. I've predicted 1-1 after extra time with Belgium to show their professional cool and win on penalties.

All those games, week in, week out? I think maybe the FA Cup or Champions League would be better. Far fewer games to keep track of.

I think every team still in this has shown their own brand of weakness. I have no idea who is going to be in the final. Have to say I quite like it.
