  1. I rate Everton higher than Spurs I think it'll shape up like this: Man City Chelsea Arsenal Man United Everton Liverpool Spurs
  2. Don't worry, Man United will be tabling an offer next week.
  3. I'm sure he will beg to differ. Won the league in the Netherlands, Spain & Germany. Three Champions League finals (one win), UEFA cup, domestic cups aplenty and he was just a penalty shootout away from making the World Cup final. I'd consider that to be a good managerial record. Yes he good but they are all making out he is the best ever all because he has now taken over utd. Van Gaal is a fantastic manager with a record that speaks for itself. I appreciate you don't like Manchester United, who here does? But that isn't reason enough to say he's overrated. It has nothing to do with man utd. I think they have been very good concerning him (signing expensive players differing from what they did with Moyes). He has done well at clubs but has also done poorly. His first spell in charge of holland he had a poor record. As he did in his second spell at barca. Also his later time at bayern he struggled and they finished third. During the World Cup holland did better than expected, but I thought a lot of the time his tactics were very negative and could only use the pace of robben to counter teams. Against the likes of Mexico and maybe even Argentina (although I appreciate it gives messi more room) he could and maybe should have altered the team to attack more. A big part of the Man United job is being able to handle the pressure, scrutiny, expectations, demands, etc. Moyes cracked under the strain. Van Gaal will not; he's been tried and tested before at the highest levels and had success. It's a smart appointment by them after the calamity of last season.
  4. Van Gaal won't want to loan Young out, he's going to want him off the team entirely. They'd only loan out players that they'd want back at some point. Young is up in age and hasn't done much for them over the years. Surplus goods, IMO.
  5. If we did that I am done. Its awful. It would be cool if we couldn't understand the words.
  6. Is this the Asian consortium that we've been hoping for?
  7. Ellis = Crap owner Lerner = Crap owner Parsing out the degrees of crapness seems like a fruitless pursuit.
  8. If Ki doesn't want to join Villa, I don't want him. If he'd prefer to rot on the bench for Arsenal, it's his mistake to make.
  9. Haha, that reminds me of a time when I was working at this bar and was taking to these girls...they said that they had just come from another bar down the street, and mentioned one of the bartenders there (a real shithead).... I said "Oh yeah, that guy's a real shithead." To which one of the girls replied, "He's my fiancee."

Is Jordan Henderson considered an automatic starter for them?
  11. AIPAC have a vise grip on the balls of just about every US senator, it's a total disgrace. Somehow they've convinced these pols that Israel is entitled to an annual gift of $50 billion from American taxpayers. Sickening.
  12. I really enjoy being the underdog. We are still a good 20 years away from legitimately challenging for the World Cup. Maybe longer. But its fun when the world expects us to suck, and we continue to turn heads.
  13. Best guy to ask about deep rooted change in the US soccer scene is Dom ...when he's not knee deep in hooters clunge It's amazing, actually. I watch even junior high kids who have skill on the ball that kids that age when I was growing up could never even conceive of. The future is very bright.
  14. I recently quit my job, it's quite liberating! Today I've been reading my book in my back yard while working on my tan. Had a nice bike ride, and then went for a light run. Rode my down to a lake and watched the swans drift around. Picked up a six pack of Clausthaler which I intend to sip on as I watch the sunset. Then I'm gonna watch the Tour de France which I recorded this morning. I don't care that I'm hemorrhaging money at the moment!
  15. The times they are a changin' (In the USA) Just rode my bike down near a local park with sports fields, playground, etc. Empty Little League baseball field Soccer field with about 150 young kids being instructed in passing drills
  16. I'm not despairing for this season. In essence, we've got a slew of new signings: Senderos Cole Richardson Bent N'Zogbia Okore All players that were either not on the payroll or not a factor last year...and all players that can make a positive contribution this year. We have a good blend of youth and experience, Benteke and Kozak coming back from injury, and hopefully an improved Lowton and Weimann. Who knows, maybe Tonev might even do something worthwhile. We are NOT getting relegated. UTV
