Clearly I (and others) understand the article differently than you (and others) do.

Please has anyone actually read any of the article? You see this is the problem with society, nobody is ever bothered to read anything bar the headlines. So whatever a news outlet wants to be the theme all they have to do is splash it across the headline, knowing people are to stupid and lazy to read the article. The supporters groups were involved in the whole thing, no less than 6 of them and they signed off on the draft without as much as a peep of issue. I read the article, thanks

It's just a really dumb PR blunder by the club. Laying down the law to supporters groups at a time when the club should be happy that they even have any supporters left is just poor timing. They are in no position to be making any demands of supporters at all.

They have a very strong team, probably the strongest in a long time. I'd be optimistic too if I supported Arsenal. They need to bring in another striker though.

Okore, Cole, Richardson, Senderos, Grealish, Gardner, along with Bent and Hutton...all "new" players basically, and Grealish looks especially promising. Benteke and Kozak due back soon... I think that despite the uncertainty regarding the sale and the bare bones player investment, we are looking a stronger side than this time last year. We have a good blend of youth and experience, and I think if we can get a few decent results early on, the team won't be under that constant pressure of last season. I don't believe we are real relegation candidates this year, and I couldn't say that last year. 5.5/10

Yeah but they can be complete failures and make money as they cannot get relegated. Villa are in the same bag as about 10 other teams in the Premier League to make up the numbers as cannon fodder and trying to stay up now counts as a success. There is no way that Lerner will not still be owner until at least the end of the 2014-2015 season. Hopefully after another 15th finish. I know, the only reason I mentioned it is because on one hand you have the Los Angeles Clippers (originally San Diego), who have only been in existence for 35-some odd years, and have, for almost that entire time, been one of the worst sports teams in North America, across the spectrum of pro sports. This team is now worth over 1 billion dollars. On the other hand, you have Aston Villa, a founding member of the first football league in history, a club steeped in tradition and glory, and known around the world. And it can't be sold for a quarter of what the Clippers will be sold for. I understand all the reasons why this is the case, but it doesn't make it any less depressing a thought.
