    Arsenal

Walcott is due back in two weeks time, maybe Wenger will settle for him and Podolski/Sanogo/Campbell...but I doubt it. He's got to be trying to sign someone right now.
  2. Arte Suave is playing this like Chris Moneymaker at the final table

    Arsenal

I tried searching for an Arsenal thread, but couldn't find one...Random Arse thoughts: Huge blow losing Giroud to injury. Other than Podolski, they don't have much at all in the way of experienced strikers. Wenger best not come in with a massive offer for Benteke! Strange that he would enter the season without one more elite forward. I have a feeling Jack Wilshere's future lies with another club. I don't think he's good enough, especially with their stacked midfield, although Ozil needs to prove himself again after his awful first season with them. Ramsey looks like the next Gareth Bale. I wonder how far Wales could go in Euro 2016...
  4. The bowler's Holding the batsman's Willy.
  5. Just a little bit too slow and lightweight. A good professional though, and I hope he does well back in Holland.
  6. Wasn't he supposed to be spilling the beans about Villa recently?

  8. I like that lineup, but I'd start Bent instead of Andi.

  10. He's 25 years old, came up through the Man United academy, and has played for the England team. So he has a good foundation on which to build, but he was never going to get that chance at Man United, especially now with Van Gaal, who won't know too much about him, and has other ideas about how he wants his midfield to look. I think this is a great opportunity for him to come into a team where he will be virtually guaranteed a starting place every weekend and allowed to develop his talent. This could end up being a very nice signing, especially if he's played in a more forward position, and I have a feeling that's what Lambert has in mind for him.

  12. Are we doing a bye week for our league?
  13. Random works best, IMO. Draft time is fine with me too.

  15. Ultimately, he's a level of player we need if we intend to not get relegated, and the latest in a series of unexpected transfers and frees. He is not an exciting signing, but given the state we're in, I'm not sure we need an exciting player, just one who can do a job for us. With our two top strikers returning soon, we will have depth in all positions, which is a nice luxury to have. A good mix of youth and experience as well. Roll on, Villa.
  16. It's pretty small scale compared with what the US has managed in recent years. Which is not to defend it, before you ask. How about tackling the Saudis? Like, kill the snake at the head? Any interest in that? They do that and we'll be riding our bikes to work. As a Green member, I can only say, "carry on!". Or " bring it on" (tiresome US expression). If it's so tiresome, why use it?

  18. Someone actually said this on a news discussion panel on television: "Inclusivity as an intentionality is very problematic when you don't recognize the dynamics of power." Piss off
  19. I think Roy Keane must really rate him and pushed for the signing. If Keane can guide him into good form, it could prove a sound investment.
