I didn't really know my Dad's dad well, and I was 6 when he died. My other grandad died in 1998. I got the phone call that he was in a bad way, so I got in my car for the 3 hour drive. The car broke down 1 hour in. By the time I had it towed to a garage and rented a car and got to the hospital, he had passed. He was a real gentleman, well respected by everyone, even though he was outcast from his family and excommunicated from the church for marrying a Protestant girl ( you just didn't do that in 1930s Boston). He could fix just about anything that was broken. He was a really skilled woodworker, and when he was older he enjoyed his gardening and golf. I still miss him a lot. We called him Joe.

Seemed like as soon as we made the double switch, we sat too far back and let them dance around the penalty box every time they had possession. Their first goal seemed inevitable. Way too many sloppy turnovers, and some unintelligent decisions, particularly from CNZ. I don't think we had one corner the whole game, or even one free kick from a dangerous area. Our offense is pretty bad. Losing Mankins on the OL is a huge loss. Not much protection for Brady or holes for Ridley. The defense should be doing better, and I expect them to tighten up tomorrow. No idea about the offense though. If Gronkowski can get his regular amount of snaps, it'll take the burden off of everyone else. I think Gronk is the key at this point, cuz there's no O lineman who they can pluck from the practice squad and make any difference.

I tried oxycodone for my back, horrible stuff. Had me spinning and totally spaced out. Ending up barfing it out of my system. I don't see how people could ever crave that stuff.

For anyone with back pain, I've found what works best for me is 400mg ibuprofen with 30mg cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxant).

I have some in my medicine cabinet for my back. I rarely use it. If I take the daily dosage, I end up with a migraine from Hell the next day. Kind of defeats the purpose. And it doesn't really do a whole lot for the back pain. But a few times when I've taken some and had nothing to do but sit around, I can feel a mild sort of high come on.

Nice story, Tony. My sister and nephew's cat Han Solo had been missing for 12 days until he returned home last night, they are very happy. He's a cool customer. Still has his balls, so he goes on long walks, but never that long. Must've been getting some of the real good stuff.

Me and a friend of mine scored Budweiser corporate suite seats at Fenway Park (Boston Red Sox baseball), for a 1PM day game. We had a refrigerator stocked from bottom to top with cans of Budweiser, a beer I would never touch unless it was free, which it was. 4 or 5 beers in, I knew it was going to be a marathon, so I decided to keep count. 12 hours and two meals later, I had drank 24 beers and 2 shots of vodka. Never fell down, never threw up. Paced it out nicely, like a pro...those were the days.
