  1. Not an entirely unwelcome attack for Netanyahu and his goon squad, because now they can unleash hell, completely unrestrained. But the number of dead Israeli civilians will hurt him badly with the centrist electorate and even ardent supporters. This is a complete fiasco for his coalition and people will demand to know why the security posture of a government they thought would take a hard line against Hamas has lapsed so catastrophically. Well maybe it was by design?
  2. Cynically, the US used Sept 11 as cover for war profiteering, resource theft and aggressive domestic surveillance, which is in many ways more repugnant than this reactive carpet bombing of Gaza, which might (playing devil's advocate) be justified as a tactically appropriate response to an actual attack by a sworn enemy.
  3. Anyone on here have a pilot's license? Considering getting one? Any enthusiasts? Air show fans? Flight simulator participants? Crash reel watchers?
  4. The title race is wise open, isn't it?
  5. Yep, but also to prevent any other Prem side from signing him. Take him off the market and size him up over the ensuing months. It looks like Pep has seen enough to know he doesn't fit in there. A summer move is likely, and I wouldnt rule out Saudi Arabia. But Man Utd might want a sniff. Maybe Chelsea.
  6. He's still settling in. Once he hits form, look out.
  7. Yep, pretty anonymous. We might have started Bailey instead...oh well.
  8. Is Molineux as junky a ground as it looks on TV? I always hated how it looks.
  9. It should also be noted that any public statements or actions in support of Palestinian rights or against Israel can derail a Hollywood-based acting career fairly quickly.
  10. It's a fairly typical reflexive position taken by American liberals and the cognitive dissonance is always fascinating to me.
  11. I'm surprised that this hardline Israeli regime has been caught so flatfooted. The cynic in me initially suspected that they allowed it to happen so that the IDF might have an excuse to flatten Gaza and not worry about political blowback. But over 700 Israeli deaths so far has got me thinking that they actually have been taken by surprise. That's a staggering number of casualties, and the optics of the Hamas assault are pretty horrifying. So whether or not Netanyahu sees an opportunity here, he's likely been weakened politically by not only the Hamas assault but the perceived slow response.
  12. Cheeky quotes from O'Neill, hope we stuff them at VP.
  13. The Patriots didn't have many legitimate star players when I was a little kid, but Russ Francis was one of them. Sad to hear how he died, but he was fearless and loved to fly, so maybe it makes sense in some weird way. But it's still really sad.
  14. And Ramsey. Either of them mightve been the difference today.
  15. We are so obviously better than them, but can't beat them. Very annoying. On the bright side, we had an immediate response to their goal, and we are still in 5th place entering the break. Carlos with another 90 minutes under his belt. And a first Villa goal for Torres.
  16. Of course this security lapse might hurt Netanyahu politically.
  17. This is a gift to Netanyahu. Now he has carte blanche.
  18. i was expecting a better game between these 2 huge miss by mateta there
