  1. It's a real shame that Sweden and Norway have let so many unskilled immigrants who have fanatical religious violence on their minds into their countries. With the old colonial powers you can explain it out of some sense of moral or legally codified obligation to the formerly downtrodden people from former colonies. But Sweden and Norway had no such obligation. Now they have rioting lunatics and murderous jihadists to deal with. Totally avoidable.
  2. 3-0 to the Villa Gil Benteke (2)
  3. Trauma? Really, my oh my don't we live in a delicate little world these days. I can understand someone returning from a warzone traumatized, I can imagine someone who witnessed a horrific murder as being traumatized, I can imagine someone who was abused regularly as a child growing up to be traumatized but someone being traumatized by bullying, at the age of 20-odd, **** needs to grow a pair IMO There have been a few American athletes over the years who have had to leave teams due to social anxiety disorder, which afflicts a surprisingly large percentage of populations in the West. Maybe Helenius was one of them and snapped under the ridicule or whatever was going on. Not neccesarliy as cut and dried as you make it seem.
  4. Have you seen 'Midnight Run'? If not, it's worth a watch. charles grodin says a sequel is in the works, believe it or not. great, overlooked film, not sure how a sequel would work, the script left little wiggle room
  5. I that was how it worked, I'd be machine gunning my way down a long list right now
  6. My nan was in a home for many years and we used to go visit her every Sunday .... Hers was a dementia home and I always came away thinking the kindest thing I could do was place a pillow over everyone's nose whilst they slept ... Of course I couldn't and wouldn't actually go through it but there has to come a point in which living is pointless , the last 3 years I visited her she had no idea who I was and the quality of life was clearly gone , just sitting /laying there staring off into space with the occasional screech or something ... I'm just hoping that all those years at least in my nans head she was on a tropical beach drinking non stop pimms whilst being served crisps by a monkey butler But to go back to your point , I'm just not sure I could do it , Its bad enough visiting your own old people without having to go through it with someone else's ( yeah I'm bad sorry ) Yeah, I was thinking old people who are in care homes but still are mentally sound. No sense talking to someone who grunts back at you. Unless you're giving a Small Heath fan instruction on why he shouldn't throw his own poo.

  8. It's almost March, we're in 18th place. As long as Sherwood helps keep us up, I'm happy. What comes next comes next, we can cross that bridge then. All signs are positive right now at our lowest point in years, so he's managed to turn the mood on it's head in a matter of days, which is great. I hope it has lasting and observable effects. I can't help but think there will be some sort of implosion at some point, but not the rest of the way this season. UTV
  9. Ive from time to time considered volunteering at an old folks home, just to sit and chat with someone, and remind them that the younger world still values them. I think the east Asians and Native Americans do a better job of honoring their elderly, although I hear thats changing somewhat now. I think of all the old people in Boston who were regular customers of the old nightclub district here, and the stories they could tell about it before it was razed. I regret not picking my granparents memories before they died.
