  1. Our summer soap opera has made the New York Times...
  2. Had a great day on Monday. Woke up at 9, took a piss and slept for 2 more hours. Woke back up, read the internet, read my WW1 book, took a bike ride down to a beach that looks out to the ocean. Beautiful sunny day. Rode back to the house, then drove to the store for some beers. Made my usual fish and egg whites with hot sauce, washed it back with a cold IPA. Read my WW1 book. Went for a swim with my nephew. Took a hot shower and had a shave. Went for a walk. Had a nice convo with a lady who used to babysit me. Had a few laughs. Went to a seaside restaurant with my mum, and watched the sailboats come in while we ate our haddock sandwiches. Some neighbors lit off some fireworks at sundown. Just a classic summer day. Just needed a girl to put the cherry on top. Gotta sort that out.
  3. Watch a series of Paul Lambert post game interviews
  4. All deals are, so when we buy players it will be structured the same. I didn't know all payments to all selling clubs are made in two installments
  5. People would do well to remember that this is Fabian Delph, a player on the very fringe of football discussion just 16 months ago. This is not Dwight Yorke or even Gareth Southgate. Totally replaceable player.
  6. The deal for Benteke, as quoted, has us getting paid in 2 installments of 16m...the first paid immediately, but structured this way, we arent quite money bags FC... Nonetheless i expect more signings. ...we should be mid table material. Not great, but decent value and not relegation fodder. For me, its a massive improvement.
  7. Hes got a chip on his shoulder, just like their fans
  8. And Fox is supposed to be the guy that is on the ball with online content. That said, Man City seem tomlead the way on that front. Hopefully Fox is too busy with new signings, eh
  9. RIP Alex Rocco, "Moe Green" from The Godfather, one of two Boston boys to feature prominently in the movie. If you want to hear the real Boston accent, and thats a big if, the hotel scene with Moe Green is it. Great actor who was limited ever after from the success of the film. Big loss.
  10. Garrison stuff...**** it. when the game turns into a chore, its a problem But ill be back next xpac, whenever that might be when is the next xpac, anyway
  11. I've softened my view of Delph overnight...he was clearly struggling with the decision because he had a real attachment to Villa. We've all had to make hard choices and who of us hasn't reversed a decision... Even twice...I don't think he's guilty of greed as he was already rich...I think he is guilty of being a bit of a flake, and being under a microscope has only made his dithering look even worse. Hes a young guy who had a massive decision to make. All his loyalty talk should've been taken with a pinch of salt just like with any player. All this said, I hope he gets plenty of stick at VP, just not OTT abuse. At the end of the day, he is completely replaceable, and his record with Villa proves it. I almost feel sorry for him cuz he's ruined his career.
  12. He seems to know he has 5 years more at best... Pragmatic Ron
  13. I bloody hope not. I've never been a fan of keepers being captains, and I personally I don't think Guzan is vocal enough anyway. he's a yank, of course he's vocal. I normally find the problem is getting the loud **** to shut the **** up. Cultural stereotype FTW
  14. That corny wink made me feel like he was full of it then...I was right, dammit
  15. Fox can sweet talk you into quicksand...but that was pretty obvious straight away, the whole bullshit corporate thing. That said, he's no Faulkner or Krulak. He deserves a chance.
  16. He will catch grief in every away ground. Hes made himself into a pathetic laughingstock.
  17. "In the abundance of water, the fool is thirsty"- Bob Marley Prolly a few more fitting Marley quotes too...
  18. The guy has been on here all day. Prolly cuz the Man City forums are as quiet as the Etihad on a European night.
  19. Love the hissing idea every time he touches the ball instead of booing him. Hissing would be so much more fitting. And original.
