Wigan won the FA Cup a few years back, and where did that propel them to as a club? We need CL above all. -
Getting CL money and signing players we'd be unable to sign if not in the CL means we'd be more competitive in all competitions going forward.

Qualifying for the CL. It will give us the opportunity to sign a few elite players who can help us go far in the CL, win the FA Cup next year, and win the Premier League too!

Scores the game winning goal on his return, so happy for him. It'll be interesting to see how Emery approaches these upcoming league games, especially Man City and Arsenal. I think he'll probably revert back to giving Digne and Moreno 45 minutes each vs Bournemouth but giving Digne the bulk of the gametime against Man City and Arsenal.

It took me decades to appreciate Country music. I still think the overwhelming percentage of it is rubbish, but some of it is redemptive. I'm partial to the Western Swing style as opposed to the cartoonish Nashville stuff. The early Bob Wills stuff is very interesting. It was kind of urbane, with elements of jazz, Mexican and even Cuban music, in total contradiction to the prevailing perception of Country as simplistic, backwoods redneck music. Contemporary Country radio is a vortex of vomit.

At the end of the day, V-Sports is a money making enterprise, and it's hard to argue with the success and stature of Emery and Monchi. But if an academy player is good enough, I'd expect him to be given the chance to be a first team regular just like any of the players from the V stable will. The cream rises to the top. As for Ramsey, if he stays fit he can develop into an England regular and many clubs will come knocking. And if the offer is good enough and fits in with the long term strategy and FFP parameters, I'd think that he, and any of our other players could be sold. I expect Monchi to be ruthless and unsentimental. We probably won't like to see some of these players moved on, especially Ramsey, but if a deal makes sense, they'll do it.

On Premier League Extra, they had a segment about title contenders, and they put up a graphic with the badges of Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and....the Premier League trophy. No mention of Villa during the segment.
