  1. Personal attacks and insults directed at the manager are inappropriate, IMO. Decorum is a virtue, after all. But I see nothing wrong with ridiculing, lambasting, criticizing, dissecting and parsing through his decisions as manager. It comes with the job, and he's failing badly right now. I think most people on here were willing to give him time, as long as there appeared to be progress being made, but not only is progress not being made, his decisions have really been the most obvious hindrance to progress. If Aston Villa were not enduring yet another season of utter shite, maybe fans would be more forgiving, and willing to give him a bit more time to sort it out. But this is ridiculous. We deserve better, and surely we can find a manager out there who can stop the rot. When you look at the fixture list, and then look at the manager, what do you envision for the club's immediate future? Success? If so, I'll have what you're smoking.
  2. We all know why he was hired, he was hired because there were few good options, and he was keen. Plus he can talk a world class load of ****. We were desperate, so welcome, Tim. I had no problem with that, especially as it worked out, but my problem was the seeming lack of a legitimate managerial candidate interview process after the season ended. I'm pretty sure Sherwood was just given the keys to Villa Park in the summer, almost as a reward. A more shrewd CEO or whatever title Fox has, would have at least sat down with a few other managers before going all in on Sherwood.
  3. Maine is becoming recognized nationally as a mini Mecca of pretty cool microbreweries. Some very nice beers being made up here.
  4. I won 4/5 fantasy leagues this year. Not sure to be proud or embarrassed.
  5. Any other club in any other league, and Sherwood would be looking at the sack for this start. We've just finished with a run of winnable games, too. NOW it gets difficult. Maybe we can pry Gareth Southgate away from his cushy job. At least with him we'd have a manager who knows how to pick a team and make obvious substitutions at the right times.
  6. The Villa job is still a big job and Rodgers is not bigger than the Villa job, quite frankly. And it's not like a lot of clubs are gonna be knocking on his door at the moment. * Not endorsing Rodgers as next Villa manager, BTW.
  7. Nope, just speculation. If I was on that team, I'd be seriously doubting his acumen at this point.
  8. Games in London really piss me off. **** you, Goodell.
  9. Yeah, I hope Sherwood isn't wrecking these players by rushing them back. Would you be surprised if he was?
  10. How about Sol Campbell. Just to shut him up.
  11. It's cold today, and I have to go scrape, clean, caulk and prime a house. All I want to do is watch football today and be a zombie.
  12. Very depressing, isn't it? The excitement of the summer, all the hope for attacking, fluid football and a cozy mid table finish has all been totally decimated by the manager. Incredible. We really deserve better than this continual torturous river of shit.
  13. The fascinating thing is, most people would be willing to give him more time if he didn't get everything so wrong, every game. If he put out the right lineups, with formations that played to their strengths and made sensible substitutions, people would be much more forgiving because it's such a young squad. But it is HE HIMSELF who is the problem, even Lambert didn't get is so consistently wrong. The writing is on the bloody wall, and if Fox can't read it, hopefully he's got people around him who aren't afraid to translate it.
  14. I just can't see us even drawing against most of these teams we are going to be playing after the break. We could be well and truly **** if a change isn't made right now. If nothing else, a change would give the team a jumpstart and maybe change the atmosphere at BH and VP, and we can turns some of the losses into draws and draws into wins. As it stands, I don't see any other way out of this.
  15. I think he's lost the players at this point.
  16. I'm sure he's not eager, but he must be smart enough to know when enough is enough. We are 4 points below 17th place Chelsea! It'd be funny if it wasn't so pathetic
  17. The ramifications are dire, that is why this is no time to **** about. Sack the incredibly underachieving manager. It's been done a thousand times before, so why not now.
  18. Lerner only factors in the equation because he's the owner. I seriously doubt if he even knows who we are playing next. He's been tuned out for years now. Fox is the lead man, and if he's as savvy as people on here have given him credit for being, he'll be ruthless now and drop the hammer. The press has little to do with it, IMO. Most of them don't know WTF they're talking about. It's about results, and Sherwood is not only not getting them, he is quite clearly the primary hindrance to getting them. But at the end of the day, all eyes must fix on Lerner, who really didn't spend much at all this summer to improve a struggling side who narrowly avoided relegation. We could have strengthened the team to a degree that would have put less pressure on individual players and even the manager, but he didn't. So we are where we are. A team with enough talent to be mid table, scuffing along in 18th place like donkeys being led by a manager who is way out of his depth. Change is needed, and now. November is not far off, and we are well adrift.
  19. He made a complete mess out of a clear cut chance yesterday...gotta bury those, this is the Premier League FFS
  20. Chelsea must be SALIVATING that they get to play us. What an embarrassment. Sherwood, out. And Lerner can **** off too.
  21. The knives are out on Heroes and Villains too, BTW If he is still here for Chelsea and we lose 4-0, will that seal it?
  22. I honestly believe that I could have managed this team better this year. How many people think I could have managed this team better this year, honestly.
