Yeah, you guys are like us last year. Strange how both clubs shared AL East spoils equally for about 15 years. The other three clubs had no chance. That's all changed, somehow.

The incessant glorification of the military in the U.S. We have Veterans Day and Memorial Day, but that's not enough. Sports teams wearing camouflage uniforms, for no apparent reason, pre game "ceremonies" held on random days...The knee-jerk "Thank you for defending our freedom" nonsense you hear every **** day. There is a real psychological mass effect in play right now, an sneakily oppressive pacification of the populace. Police departments look like Special Ops forces. I worry for the future.

The opening scene with Bran and the crow people up in that psychedelic bird's nest was art house type stuff. Very cool and weird.

Point taken, but it's still a great achievement for a team that barely escaped the drop less than a year ago. The team is comprised largely of people nobody really knew about except FM nerds, with a manager whose reputation in England was not particularly good, in professional terms. It's a pretty good story in this age of complete greed and cynicism.

I actually think it's valid. We're the biggest club to get relegated from the Premier League, and for that reason among many others, Villa will be every other team's big prize, including Sunderland.

Not a bad price to pay for their achievement this season. I don't know how well heeled their owner is, but if he has the means and the desire, he could try to assemble a team good enough to launch a sustained European campaign. Kind of what we were all hoping for back when. Who knows, they might come crashing down to Earth next year, but fair play to them for what they've done. When we get promoted next year, I want Okazaki at the top of the shopping list. Can't help but love the little dude.

I still can't believe we've actually been relegated. Missing out on the TV money is catastrophic if we don't find some sugar daddy to save us. Christ Almighty.

I'm not sure he was trying to convey jealousy, but rather cynicism. That said, I do think that calling them "lucky" does them a huge disservice.
