I'm thinking about maybe going for a two year degree in computer programming, cuz I don't want to be tending bar at age 55, and I'm done painting houses. I need a cushy desk job...A lot of you guys are computer nerds, what is the most in demand skill in IT right now? I know **** all about it, but I figure even a two year degree could land me a decent paying job...

I'm about to give my notice at work and they know it, so they want to have a meeting to convince me to stay. I have another restaurant that wants me, and I'm betting the head chef there won't be as much of a prick as the one who picked a fight with me last week. He slapped food out of my hand and got right up in my face. Big guy, but not tall. I stood my ground and gave him an earful back. He gave a half hearted apology the next day cuz he knew he **** up, but he was so casual about it and also trying to put some blame on me, so I told him I was done. Quasi-violence at work and that kind of negativity from the chef is not acceptable. They have to be shitting it now though, because two other bartenders are leaving next month, just in time for the tourist season. So I have a bit of leverage, which you don't often have in an industry where people are often treated like cattle. We'll see how it all goes...

I really worry that things might boil over during the summer and at the conventions. It's like the whole country is on edge here...a very strange sort of dread hangs in the air. I think even hardened political fatalists have been shocked at the violence and general menacing tone coming from the right wing. Rabid racism, fear, ignorance and violence, it's a total nightmare. If my choices are Clinton or Trump, I'm not voting. **** the system!

As much as I despise Trump and worry that he's within a sniff of the White House, I love the fact that he has career politicians running scared and trying to destroy the guy. He's too much of a wild card for Corporate America to deal with, and they are totally crippled by the quagmire they find themselves in. I love it. Hillary is the safe bet for the status quo, and the GOP leaders are hearing that message loud and clear. This could very well be the first election forfeited by a major party because they couldn't control their candidate like all the puppets that came before him. Sanders is so obviously the right guy for the job. So sad that so many can't see that.
