  1. Brilliant acting from Gene Wilder here. Terrifying in a way.
  2. Not many people mention Ian Crocker, but he's always been one of the best, IMO. Straightforward, no bad poetry like Drury or backslapping forced banter like John Champion.
  3. The Conference League/Premier League balancing act will be the big factor. I hope Emery gets it right.
  4. This team should be able to beat Brentford away.
  5. The cynical Villa fan in me would usually agree with that statement. Here's the thing, though. We are in 2nd place over the entire calendar year, but even closer to first place on points in the actual current season, and Man City are not as good this year. I think I've waited too long for this. I'm jumping in with both feet.
  6. Do you think Thomas Frank chews gum while he has sex with his wife?
  7. I just learned today that Louis Theroux is the son of American travel writer Paul Theroux.
  8. The thing about Donk is that he runs funny. If his running gait wasn't so goofy, people would probably complain about him less.
  9. It's going to very interesting to see how things play out in Argentina with their new nutter in charge. The Argie Left has no one but themselves to blame.
  10. The incoming owners like Potter, oh dear.
  11. Strange, isn't it? It was crushing to get relegated, but in retrospect, it was consistently the most fun time being a Villa fan over the last few decades, and several of the players from that time are club legends. It also set in motion the course of events that led to the takeover by NSWE. So in a few different ways, relegation was good for the club and the fans.
  12. Blood, is the team sheet in fam? Edit: Nvm, fam.
  13. They don't seem to have the same cutting edge from previous seasons. If we are truly "title contenders", this is a game we need to bag maximum points from. Seems a good opportunity to shore up our away record. I think we are about to go on another goal scoring tear.
  14. I sadly don't totally trust our medical staff, and I'm aware that this opinion is based on nothing more than conjecture. Ramsey and Moreno both came back too early. I'd be ok with Buendia and Mings just taking it slow and easy and fully heal for summer training. We're in third place without them, after all.

    Arsenal

I always respected Arsenal, from the George Graham days through Emery's short stint. Tenacious teams with some brilliant players, composed managers and their supporters seemed a decent lot. That all seems to have changed except for the brilliant players. Martinelli would look really good in a Villa shirt. But Arteta is such a complete assh*le. He's made the team into his image, and it's obviously very off-putting with their antics. And their fans are easily the most obnoxious, at least the younger ones. They've created a toxic online profile for themselves with their histrionics and entitlement.
  16. I wonder if he has a statistical analyst(s) on his staff? Or a football operations guy? There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason behind his signings. It's all a bit Boehly-esque. Just signing players to "show" that he means business or something. Man Utd and Chelsea have a lot in common at the moment with a few more seasons of frustration ahead, if not more. Is it true the young Danish striker hasn't scored a league goal? It's Weghorst 2.0, but a lot more expensive. Salt in the wound for the lad that the club that sold him just advanced to the next round of the tournament at United's expense!
  17. De Gea would've been perfectly good for them for a few more years. Major fail from 10 Hag.
  18. Looks like Putin has finally murdered Navalny. Sad news.
  19. Haven't we already played them at their ground?
  20. Unfortunately for Dean, he'd be moving to a state whose biggest sports legend (or one of the biggest) is named Dean Smith! I'm sure he's aware of this as his son goes to UNC.
