  1. It was a really interesting experience. The Sioux adhere to a strict code of conduct, and it's very humbling. After all that has been done to them, and what continues to be done to them, they'd talk about loving us, and wanting to help heal us. They put to shame the most pious Christian, I'm sure of it.
  2. Standing Rock pics- The first person to greet me when I pulled into camp...she jumped right into my car Dinnertime My sleeping quarters Wood splitting duty Victory parade The main camp
  3. Tribal elders have asked people to decamp and head home...I just hope some of the environmentalists there take heed. So I'm back in Minneapolis at some random hotel bar What a scene to there...must have been at 25K people there today. I joined a sweat lodge ceremony my second night...one of the most challenging things I've ever done. Amazing commitment by all the people who have been there for months, it's almost a flawless system. It was a very humbling experience.
  4. Greetings from a victorious Standing Rock! Pics to come.
  5. These people are going to gut the constitution and bring America to it's inevitable conclusion.
  6. Oh yeah, also "The N Word". Ridiculous babying down of the populace. Say the word, and trust the listener to interpret it in it's intended context. Hopefully you're not using the word to insult anyone..and if not, and they still get upset, to hell with them, they're not worth talking to anymore because they're total idiots!
  7. College kids in America with their triggers and safe spaces is really taking the piss. Grow the **** up. Youth sports leagues that don't crown champions, and instead give all the teams "participation trophies". As if there aren't meaningful life lessons to be learned by winning graciously and losing with honor. We are turning into a nation of wet noodles.
  8. "I already have intelligence, it's the biggest, best intelligence, believe me. I know more about ISIS than the generals...and I love our veterans, they're tremendous people, beautiful people...and what's happening to our veterans, who I love, is a total disgrace. "
  9. I've finally started winning, but I'll need a miracle to nick 8th place.
  10. There are three camps, and this is the largest- http://www.ocetisakowincamp.org/holding-truths Sacred Stone camp also has a website. I'm only staying 5 nights, but I'll let you know if there is anything needed that you can send that way.
  11. The digital age has changed things dramatically though. People have rallied around this cause because it got spread around the world independent of CNN, BBC and Reuters, etc. Without social media, they would already have completed the work in that area and moved on. Now they are under a degree of scrutiny they hadn't planned on.
  12. The "Law of the Land" isn't worth a **** thing, as the Indians know more than anyone. Or maybe not as much as the people who write them. There is serious money invested in this project, and if they don't clear the area by Jan 1, the contract expires, and the whole thing goes belly up. So even though the area is sovereign land, they all thought they could get away with it like they always do. The original plans had the pipeline going through Bismarck, a small city that is majority white, but the residents kicked up dust about it, so the oil company changed the route to not only run through Sioux territory, but under the **** river that is their only water source. The area has spiritual and cultural significance to them as well. The entire thing is just another travesty among many. edit: there are lawyers who have been working on behalf of the tribe, and hopefully the illegality of police/Army action is dealt with accordingly under the law, but like I said, the law is extremely malleable when so much money is at stake. You can also be assured that all Native American tribes are watching this very closely. The government doesn't want this to set a precedent, if the movement is successful.
  13. They'd have to search my car and have a legal reason to. Also, you can buy them at hardware stores, so it's a non issue. They haven't asked for spray paint, so I'm not going to bring any. I'm bringing ski goggles and a respirator though, so I won't be too easy to scatter away if things combust. As far as a social media thing, I'm showing up to this late in the game; there are people who have been there for months, so I don't want to spend much time tweeting and posting, etc. The world media is already there. I'll keep VT updated though! This is just a continuum of 400 years of aggression and neglect. For me, after Trump got elected, the movement at Standing Rock seems like Ground Zero in the fight for good in this country. I hope I can get there in time to contribute. I have friends here collecting all the camping gear I need, cuz I'm not really an outdoorsman, lol. The thought of putting up a tent in a huge crowd of campers is just as intimidating as squaring up to a phalanx of riot police!
  14. So I'm flying out to Minneapolis on Thursday and driving to Standing Rock from there. The ND governor said today that they are blocking commercial vehicle shipments of food and supplies. We'll see if that extends to private vehicles. I've been asked to bring food, basic medical supplies and hatchets. I'm bringing hatchets to the Sioux in a standoff against the government. Sounds about right.
  15. "I'm on to you smart guy, I know what you are. Straight as a corkscrew, a real Mr. Inside Outski, like some goddamn Bolshevik picking up his orders from Yegg Central."- The Dane
  16. I'd love to...shall we rendezvous in the Azores?
  17. Video quality is dicey, but worth a watch.
  18. Laughably bad scammers..at least make an effort... I don't know where Clones is, but it sounds kind of exotic
  19. I wouldn't know, I'm not on Facebook, but over here, they're doing a big ad campaign, so I thought it was a new thing..
  20. Big challenges this year, no doubt. And much to be learned, like you said. I've quit my job and decided to head to North Dakota and help with the Standing Rock resistance. Amazing that the US govt. is still violating treaties and brutalizing Native Americans. A friend of a friend is part of the medic team there, and she says it's bad. The Army Corps of engineers said they were planning on evicting the protesters next Monday, an announcement that has mobilized a lot of people, including over 2,000 veterans who are asking people to bring body armor and gas masks. Now law enforcement is saying they won't evict, but these are people who have been firing rubber bullets at heads and genitals and setting attack dogs on teenagers, so **** them, you can't trust them. So I think the time is right for me to go there and add to their numbers, and resist this emerging police state. My job sucked anyway.
  21. Kick offs are so useless now. Total waste of time. Make them dangerous and exciting, or skip thew whole process
